SUMMARY:

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for developing and executing finished product demand and inventory plans to meet sales and service objectives as well as coordinating shipping and logistics at the plant level. Responsibilities also include managing raw and packaging material to adequately support production. This position will collaborate with other members of the Supply Chain such as Operations, Sales, and Customer Service teams to ensure the consistent, cost-effective supply of products to customers. This position will sustain the Mission and Food Safety and Quality Statements of the Mennel Milling Company.

PRIMARY WORK SHIFT:

This position works Monday - Friday 7AM-4PM. Overtime and weekend shift may vary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP's, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.Coordinates finished product storage, warehouse operations, outbound logistics, transportation, and inbound ingredient and packaging material inventories.Works directly with warehouse operators to execute daily shipments & inbound deliveries.Works with plant production planner to ensure production aligns with demand & inventory.Reviews capacity against demand, forecast and warehouse needs/capability.Manages proper inventory levels of raw materials and packaging supplies.Recognizes material and capacity problems, review alternatives and make decisions which will result in optimizing available resources.Tracks and orders raw ingredients and packaging/production materials in a timely and accurate manner.Maintains appropriate inventory level targets with consideration to space and cost.Communicates material issues to procurement, transportation, production planners, schedulers, management and all other levels as necessary.Oversees demand planning and management processes for new and existing products.Is the main point of contact or lead for Mennel logistics operations.Assists production with various tasks and troubleshooting as necessary.Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will work in conjunction with Team Leads or Lead Operators and will manage logistics activities on their assigned shift. Locations will vary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain preferred, or equivalent experience preferred.Minimum 3 years work experience in Production, Planning and Scheduling.Record of successful production and logistics management including applicable software.Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff.Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and juggle multiple and changing priorities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Ability to write, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Must use solid judgment when making decisions. Must have ability to quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to conditions that are typical to a fast- paced manufacturing environment, including: moving equipment and machinery, dusty, hot/humid, and cold conditions; employee must be willing to work in all weather conditions, at heights, and in the presence of airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment usually requires the use of hearing protection. Work involves exposure to common wheat allergens.
