POSITION OVERVIEW

The Program Coordinator under the supervision of the Branch Manager, manages the ASES/ELOP program and collaborates with Integrity Charter School to provide safe and educationally enriching activities for children during non-school hours. Collects and analyzes achievement data. Coordinates and develops learning and enrichment partnerships with community and youth service agencies. With direction from the Branch Manager, strengthens and aligns the BGCGSD educational and enrichment programs in accordance with grant funding guidelines and BGCGSD program requirements and expectations.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists in the supervision and administration of the ASES/ELOP Program in accordance and compliance with the State and federal regulations and ICS direction.Assists Branch Manager with staff development, program development, and parent communication. Creates monthly activity calendars in accordance with monthly themes. Purchases materials and supplies, as directed by Branch Manager. Conducts monthly inventory of program materials and assures fair distribution among staff membersResponsible for daily set-up and clean-up of materials used during the program.Organizes field trips and assemblies for camp days including location, cost, transportation, permission slips, and other needs.Provide and prepare all academic and enrichment activities that meet the requirements of the grant, as well as necessary curriculum, materials, and supplies as approved by the Branch Manager.Assess member engagement and effectiveness of outside vendor services, such as science, yoga, and cooking programs.Creates and maintains bulletin board displays around the Club.Assists in maintaining various kinds of records including, but not limited to: attendance, snacks, etc., as well as evaluation or assessment of activities. Promotes program and encourages participation by students to maintain attendance at 89% or greater of the projected attendance rate.Orients new parents and members to the program.Abides by, and enforces Boys & Girls Club organizational policies, procedures, and practices.Provide a positive adult role model for students and staff to emulate. Provides informal guidance to participants.Keeps all equipment in good repair and ready for play. Keeps area clean and orderly.Collects data and reports as required by Club Management and funding sources.Observes and monitors member behavior, assesses and applies the appropriate behavior management techniques to support positive choices. Keeps Branch Manager informed of behaviors and works with them for plans of action.Participates in and assists in the facilitation of staff meetings and in-service training as assigned. Attends meetings of school-based staff, Club Management, and other meetings as assigned.Provide updates on a weekly and monthly basis for the Branch Manager regarding the behavior and attendance of members and program implementation of staff.Performs related tasks as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Describe the Knowledge, Skill, or Ability

A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. A minimum of 24 units of college curriculum and the ability to pass the Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (CAPE) are required.A minimum of two (2) years relevant experience working in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.Direct experience working with school-aged youth and knowledge of youth development.Verified ability to analyze student assessment data to improve student achievement.Respond according to the procedure for emergency and disciplinary situations.Ability to effectively communicate with youth, parents, co-workers, volunteers, and community partners and display tact, maturity, and flexibility.Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite; (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience in scheduling and maintaining multiple calendars in Microsoft Outlook. Verified knowledge in database system management and reporting.Knowledge of prevention, early intervention, intervention programs, enrichment programs, and activities to assist members, students, staff, and families; able to effectively work with members including discipline problems.Strong oral and written Spanish skills are preferred.Solid analytical skills for identifying areas for improvement and developing innovative solutions. Ability to recognize problems, conflicts, or impact to others, research options, present alternatives, implement solutions, and follow through to ensure goals are met.
