The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego (BGCGSD or Clubs) CHANGES LIVES through quality programs and guidance in a safe, affordable and fun environment. BGCGSD's mission is to inspire and enable youth to achieve academic success, build good character and responsible citizenship and make healthy lifestyle choices. We have been providing a safe, fun and positive environment at our sites with trained and dedicated professional staff. Members are involved in age-appropriate activities based upon our three priority outcomes of Academic Success, Character Development and Healthy Lifestyles.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Regional Manager is a fast paced position responsible for the supervision and development of Branch Managers, who direct a team of full time and part time support staff, for an assigned geographic territory. This position is responsible for the final interviewing and hiring of the Branch Manager team, managing all aspects of their orientation training; ensure completion of all reports, deliverables, and overall performance to the goals and metrics of the Clubs programs and services. Focus is on building relationships, identifying knowledge gaps for professional advancement, and driving measurable outcomes through outstanding program execution.The Regional Manager will be assigned one of the three priority outcomes for the BGCGSD, Academic Success, Character Development and Healthy Lifestyles and is tasked with curriculum development, execution of training staff, and evaluation and outcome measurement of assigned priority outcome.

DIRECT SERVICES TO BRANCH MANAGERS
Foster retention and success of Branch Mangers in assigned region through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring of individualized development plans.Identify barriers to success, develop action plans to focus on areas of development, and implement an individualized performance management strategy.Develop realistic goals that will contribute to professional success, develop rapport and supportive relationships, and motivate to achieve increased programmatic and services outcomes.Work in partnership to determine staffing levels that best support club operations and program delivery; club hours, shutdowns, cost to youth, extension shutdowns, and obtaining and utilizing community and volunteer support; monitor assigned region for compliance.Proactively train in developing strategic alliances with community leaders and local officials to increase visibility of Clubs programs, services and activities, and maintain good public relations. Partners with other youth serving organizations, members, parents, families, funders and community organizations.Communicate, implement, and enforce organization operational policies and procedures; monitor same for compliance.Support in the development, planning, coordination, scheduling and producing training sessions for site staff based on training needs assessment. Cultivate methods and resources related to staff training, team building, staff development, and staff recognition as they relate to career, and summer staff.Actively participate in the strategic planning process of assigned sites to ensure success of both long and short term goals established by needs assessment. Prepare weekly, quarterly, annual reports based on individual site progress towards realization of established goals.Evaluate effectiveness of sites programs and services, devise evaluation methodology, and compile evaluative data for creating program assessment and status reports for Sr. Vice President as requested.Ensure the overall business plan for assigned Branch Manager's reflects high standards, bench and succession planning, coupled with consistent mentoring and people development.Accountable for consistently and effectively communicating the Clubs objectives to all Branch Managers through organized and scheduled site visits, conference calls, and email communications.Ensure all current safety and wellness protocols are being adhered to:Function Name/Tasks2.
SUPERVISION AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Responsible for recruiting, selecting, supervising, coaching, counseling, and disciplining Branch Managers in assigned region.Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings, trainings, and special events as needed.Establish a process to ensure that Branch Manager's are accountable to expressed expectations on a consistent and timely basis.Promote excellent leadership qualities and lead by example by ensuring on-going communication, completing intensive area training, and providing professional and constructive feedback to help improve performance and management skills.Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing performance; review compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.Anticipate potential personnel issues and proactively collaborate with Human Resources in a timely manner to resolve problematic situations using tact, diplomacy and strict confidentiality.Review and approve timesheets; monitor attendance, vacations, sick leave reporting.3. ADMINISTRATION
Develop, maintain, and regularly update strategic approaches to staff training, team building, staff development, and staff recognition as they relate to direct reports.Conduct staff meetings; identify staff training needs and opportunities; design and implement professional development and training programs.Lead operations meetings as directed; attend Regional Manager Meetings as needed facilitated by President, CEO; participate in Sr. Management meetings.Present regional territory reports at Board Meetings as directed.In conjunction with Property Manager, oversees site facilities in assigned region. Ensure that equipment and furnishings are set up in a manner that is safe and healthy for employees.Conceptualize innovative training programs that develop staff skills and knowledge towards fostering high morale, accountability, engagement, and team building.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.Other duties as assigned by Sr. Vice President.4.
RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT
Develop and implement an annual site-specific revenue generation plan which includes targets and goals.Work with the Development team to solicit funds from appropriate local service clubs, assist with organization wide special events, participate in the Little Jumps annual campaign, and host volunteer groups at your Club.Document all donations and gifts, whether in-kind or other, timely and accurately as outlined by policy.Work with Senior Vice President to create annual contribution goal plan; develop steps to meet identified goal.Increase the revenue from site rentals; member dues, and fees annually.Support any local fundraising events as needed.QUALIFICATIONS
Four-year degree from an accredited college or university. (Required)Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience, Boys & Girls Clubs experience. (Preferred)Verified skills in program development and assessment; strong leadership, analytical and methodical in approach to problems, excellent judge of character, highly motivated and results driven. (Required)Demonstrated leadership to coordinate and evaluate the efforts of staff in the accomplishment of program goals, set performance standards by observing behavior, providing objective feedback, and counseling and implement corrective actions as needed to mediate disputes and resolve conflicts. (Required)Management skill to develop and implement long-range and operational plans and to identify and effectively coordinate resources to meet program needs. Identify potential barriers to achieving goals, formulating and recommending solutions or contingency plans and clearly communication needs and recommendations timely. (Required)Aptitude to work well under pressure with multiple time constraints and changing deadlines. Must be able to work in an environment with shifting priorities and frequent interruptions.
