What You’ll Work On As an R&D Project Manager, you will directly manage multiple projects that are engaged in the research and development of new technologies, processes, and products. You will lead a cross-functional development team through the Product Development Life Cycle from conception to full product commercialization. You will utilize processes that foster collaboration, innovation, quality, and transparency. You will continually seek to remove obstacles and drive out inefficiencies while maintaining a robust system of documentation and communication. You need to be highly technical and organized and able to rally team members around our common goals. You’ll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks

Lead, motivate and inspire cross-functional team members (e.g., electrical, mechanical, and software engineering, product management, manufacturing, sales, support, marketing, repair, and services).

Develop project plans containing complete scope of work identifying all project requirements, tasks, resource assignments and an accurate estimate for task completion.

Champion and drive new product projects through the product development life cycle from conception to full commercialization using the company product development process.

Create/update project plans (Gantt Charts) on a regular basis.

Manage expense and capital spending associated with projects.

Use common project management tools to manage team activities (agendas, meeting minutes, action items, schedules, and budgets).

Communicate status to team and stakeholders with a variety of written and verbal communication tools.

Present to team and senior leadership.

Provide robust documentation of project development activities and outputs.

Always willing to step outside the defined job to help the team succeed.

Accountable for all aspects of project delivery, from planning to close.

Share the belief that project managers are active, participating team members that dig in and solve problems.

What We're Looking For

BS degree in engineering.

5+ years of experience in project management for new product development or a Master’s Degree in relevant field with 3+ years of experience.

2+ years of experience managing projects with remote team members.

Excellent communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Applications; Word, Excel, Project & PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience employing Agile development, such as SCRUM or SAFe.

Demonstrated budget responsibilities.

Demonstrated team leadership & management skills.

Highly self-motivated, flexible, and able to follow-through.

Able to prioritize activities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work with many different types of personalities.

Experience with product test design.

Experience working with a product manufacturing team.

Experience in delivering solutions in environmental monitoring applications.

PMI PMP certification

Work Environment General office environment, extensive use of PC Domestic or International travel may be required 1 to 2 times per year. Physical Requirements Extended periods of sitting or standing typically associated with office work, tradeshows and international travel.
