Facility Management Corporation, known as "FMC Ice Sports" was formed in 1992 to deliver high quality ice sport facility management and operations, as well as ice-based programs that benefit our communities and promote interest in both hockey and skating. We have established a record of quality operations and have grown to be the largest operator of public arenas in the United States. FMC operates 25 public ice-skating arenas across the state of Massachusetts in long-term partnership agreements with the Commonwealth and various municipalities as well as educational institutions.
The
Program Coordinator - Learn to Skate
will oversee multiple program hours, both on and off site and is responsible for customer service and assigned administrative functions. During programs, the coordinator is expected to manage, organize, and support on-site staff. They could be on or off the ice depending on programs needs and as direct reports see appropriate. The coordinator must be a team player and possess a positive results-oriented approach and attitude. They will work closely with their Direct Report and Arena Staff. The work schedule includes nights, weekends and holidays as necessary to meet the needs of our facilities and to complete job responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Support and assist their Program Director's efforts, directives, and initiatives.Supervise and/or execute programming hours.Prepare and/or organize programs and events.Deliver customer service, experience management and support both onsite and offsite. Examples of this include
Assisting customer during programsReturning calls or emailsHandling registration and POS transactionsHandling social media posts
Set up and maintenance of customer touchpoints, including lobby and area set up during programs, registration portals, website pages, promotional materials, social media, etc.Customer and administrative support for FMC Skating Club memberships, ISI memberships, and ISI Testing.Cultivating the FMC Skating Community within the rinks assigned, including but not limited to:
Promoting the crossover from Learn to Skate to Figure Skating or Hockey programs.Helping to build a team atmosphere.Parent, skater, and coach education.Identifying areas for development.Assist with events such as Session Special Events, Exhibitions, Spring Show, partner events, community events, public skate events, etc.
Executing the onsite experience of the programs assigned.Maintaining appropriate communications with direct report, arena manager, and other roles regarding program function and execution.Working with direct report and other pertinent staff growth of the program assigned and others to execute the program.Facilitate payroll and other staff management functions as needed.Ensuring program supplies and materials are maintained (attendance taken, evals/recommendations, skill linking, etc)Skills/Knowledge Required:
High school diploma or GED.A minimum of two years if paid Instructor experience in either Figure Skating or Hockey.One of the following proficiencies as a skater:
Passed ISI Freestyle 4Passed USFS PreliminaryParticipated in at least 2-3 years of formal league play
Outstanding customer service skills.A self-starter with ability to take direction and prioritize tasks from supervisors.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with a variety of individuals.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively while meeting deadlines.Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to process data and compile reports.Flexibility to work varying hours especially as seasons and service needs changes.WITHIN STIPULATED TIMEFRAME
Current ISI (Ice Sports Industry) Professional MembershipCurrent Professional Liability InsuranceISI Judges CertificationCompletion of FMC Training Modules for:
CESInstructorSupervisor
CPR / First Aid Certification
Compensation:
$22.00 per hour.
