Senior Business Analyst
conducts detailed analysis, defines business requirements, and acts as a liaison between the business owners and Information Technology development Scrum teams, in a customer-centric environment. This position primarily works in learning management system (LMS) and supporting technologies to ensure learning environment stability and ensure the successful execution of online learning, new initiatives, and complex technical projects.This remote position supports other members of the BA team by providing training. They contribute and improve processes across business units and Scrum teams. The Senior Business Analyst is considered Competent or Proficient in all areas of Business Analysis practice, having good or in-depth knowledge of all related skill areas.What We Offer:* $92,000-$105,000/year depending on experience* Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Ins/Company paid STD & LTD Ins* 401K, Paid Holidays, Paid Time Off* Work is performed remotelyResponsibilities
Partnership and CollaborationPartner with assigned business areas to understand and prioritize information needs.
Translate business requirements into system solutions.Collaborate with Developers, Report Writers, and Quality Assurance Analysts to ensure accurate design, implementation, and comprehensive requirements-based testing of business/system requirements.Collaborate with the Scrum Master and business areas to ensure team objectives are met and business processes are defined.Requirements Gathering and AnalysisCapture customer requirements through iterative structured interviews with subject matter experts.Develop current/future state user stories, process flows, and CRC models from customer interviews.Responsible for developing acceptance criteria and requirements from user stories, customer interviews, process flows, and CRC models.Trace requirements from scope through design, development, and testing.Quality Assurance and AccuracyResponsible for the quality and accuracy of each requirements specification.Ensure comprehensive requirements-based testing is achieved.Solution Design and ImplementationParticipate in solution design and buy versus build discussions, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of each solution.Education and MentorshipEducate IT on the direction of the business while providing teaching, coaching, and mentoring to IT staff, and assist in the development of UTI processes.
Qualifications
Education / ExperienceBachelor's or master's degree in a business or IT discipline, or equivalent work experienceRequires 7 - 10 years of relevant work experience and growth; typically, within IT or working in relevant positions within business unitsPrefer 4+ years' experience as Business AnalystCertifications and Specialized KnowledgeStrongly prefer Blackboard experience.Prefer Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification.Requires technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes.Understanding of IT's systems and capabilities.CompetenciesFamiliar with gathering use cases or user stories through interviews, observations, and interpretation of policies and procedures.Significant experience turning use cases into functional requirements.Advanced knowledge and demonstrated use of personal computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).SkillsBusiness Analysis ProficiencyPerform all duties of Business Analyst I.Analyze business partner operations to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for process automation.Assist in business process redesign and documentation for new technologyCollaboration and TeamworkWork effectively in a matrixed environment as part of both Business Analysis and Scrum teams.Collaborate in a non-confrontational manner and adhere to processes.Build and maintain strong relationships with all levels of employees and consultants.Agile and Scrum PracticesComply with UTI's Agile, Scrum, and other software development lifecycle practices and standards.Facilitate discussions about business processes with diverse participants.Leadership and CoordinationControl, lead, and coordinate with multiple levels of staff and project management in both business and technical areas.Reconcile competing ideas or problems to reach mutually beneficial conclusions.Adaptability and IndependenceWork in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential.Work under minimal direction from management.Organize, plan, prioritize, and follow through on work.Analytical and Problem-Solving SkillsTurn ambiguous information into meaningful requirements.Exhibit strong logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.About Us:It's all about the reputation. 55+ years of experience, trusted by 35+ industry leading brands, 16 campuses, 5 technical schools.
