How will you make a difference?

In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute both financial tactical and strategic objectives, and have the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals. In this role, you will lead Digital Intelligence Supply Chain & Engineering finance and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. This role will also support all integration aspects for Digital Intelligence Supply Chain & Engineering to drive consistent reporting and asset controllership routines & controls. The role will need to be able to understand the needs and deliver results for multiple stakeholders and business leadership. The role will require both FP&A and project planning subject matter knowledge and experience and rely on a high level of independence in problem solving and decision making.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

A minimum of 8-10 additional years of experience in Finance

Financial acumen with the ability to understand and build financial models

Effective communication skills with ability to present to senior management

Proven ability to elevate the financial literacy of the company through the communication of financial performance, variance analysis, and financial goals

Demonstrated ability to be flexible to changing business needs and priorities of the organization

Previous experience in project management

Reporting tool experience in Power BI

What will your typical day look like?

This position owns the P&L, financial reporting and analysis across our supply chain and groups and will build and lead processes around inventory & cost management

The Finance Manager provides insight and drives accountability around improving supply chain operations based on financials, KPIs, and understanding of the overall well being of the business

Partner with and influence functional area experts to establish annual operating plans, ongoing monthly forecasts for expenses and related KPIs, and perform ad hoc analysis

Lead cross-functional key stakeholders (other FP&A partners, Buying, Inventory Planning, productivity, efficiency etc.) to ensure groups are aligned around key financial and operational objectives

Identify areas of financial and operational opportunities; drive accountability and improvement

Manage executive level reporting for performance monitoring and reporting for teams to meet business and operational needs

Partner with functional area experts to identify areas of opportunity through financial analysis

Analyze inventory flow and impacts to supply chain and adjust if necessary to optimize SC efficiency

Define key inventory targets and drive process to meet targets

Analyze variances in financial and operational drivers

Strong interpersonal skills to enable building relationships with key operational partners

Ensure best estimate for current quarter roll-up for planning purposes by modeling various scenarios across multiple Engineering verticals that impact multiple P&L financial results

Integrate the legacy GE Transportation and legacy Wabtec digital engineering teams under one consolidated engineering financial model and harmonize key processes for labor supply/demand planning and the resulting financial outputs

Lead deep dives on cost variances for Supply Chain and Engineering. Review Hourly rates and drive reduction through various initiatives. Implement tools to ensure data quality

Generate and enhance routine reports that meet client business needs by conducting thorough needs assessment with business stakeholders

Partner with other team members to help simplify and digitize analytics and reports

Analyze data for reasonableness and review variances by considering sources, current business activities and historical trends prior to releasing information to business stakeholders

Comply with necessary regulations in the reporting process using knowledge of applicable statutory and GAAP reporting requirements

Create analysis on investment paybacks (including R&D) to drive decisions on capital expenditures and footprint optimization

Support planning cycle by obtaining relevant data from resources in Finance and other applicable functions

Respond to client ad-hoc requests for customized data and reports in a knowledgeable and flexible manner

Consider the effects on relevant IT infrastructure and controllership, from both a functional and systems perspective, when evaluating and implementing FP&A process improvements.
