POOL MANAGER

SUMMARY
This is a year-round, full-time position. This position will be the on-site manager for the Aquatics Program at Warford Activity Center and will assist with managing the three outdoor pools during the summer season. Primary duties include operating the Warford Activity Center Pool, assisting the Aquatics Supervisor with hiring, training, and supervising staff, ensuring the safety of all patrons, assisting with operations at the outdoor pools and managing the swim lesson program.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESAccountable for all aspects of the Warford Activity Center Swimming Pool, swim lesson program, and assists with managing and operating the 3 outdoor pools in the summer.Provide great customer service and ensure patron safety by properly enforcing all pool rules and regulations with both patrons and staff.The ability to swim 100 yards, tread water for 2 minutes, and swim an additional 50 yards.Perform all essential rescues, both shallow and deep-water rescues according to the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course program.Respond to emergency situations and perform accordingly.Track time entries of employees, approve, and report discrepancies to the Aquatics Supervisor.Coordinate the swimming lesson program which includes becoming Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certified, training staff to be swim lesson instructors, scheduling staff for lessons, communicating and handling parent concerns/issues and giving assessments.Coordinate rentals, special events and independent contracts at the Warford Activity Center.Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review the work of staff, as well as enforce policies in employee handbook.Document all infractions and/or counseling that occur with your staff and/or patrons daily.Consistently clean the Warford Pool and test water chemistry. Which includes becoming a Certified Pool Operator (CPO). To help maintain pool regulations set by Environmental Health.Assist and monitor staff for daily cleaning duties.Assist with pool parties, family nights, and special events throughout the year.Attend hiring events to help recruit summer lifeguards and cashiers.Develop program plans for special events and programs which include developing a budget, marketing, purchasing supplies, scheduling staff, running the event, and putting together a recap.Complete daily in-service to ensure staff maintain monthly training hours for licensing. Which would include obtaining a Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification through the American Red Cross.Assist with the opening and closing of the outdoor pools including cleaning the facility and pool, stocking concessions, and ordering supplies.Communicate with fellow supervisors about any problems or issues that arise during your shift.Submit ideas for creative marketing tools to promote public attendance.Know pool operations for all pools and help maintain and supervise them daily.Perform other duties assigned by Aquatic Supervisor.Maintain good communication and problem-solving skills with all staff.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED required. Must be able to successfully complete pretesting requirements that include 100-yard swim without stopping, tread water for (2) minute without using hands and swim an additional 50 yards. Retrieving a 10-pound brick from 9 feet of water. Employee must complete American Red Cross Lifeguard training within 60 days of employment (American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification preferred). This position must be available to work various shifts between 7:00am and 9:30pm including nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather. Valid Texas Driver's License Required.
