Responsibilities
Directs pharmacy operations to ensure alignment with the mission, values and objectives of the department and organization; directs the development and implementation of practices, policies and procedures in all functional areas of the department; accountable for department staffing and capacity planning; oversees the development, monitoring of and compliance with departmental budget(s); utilizes broad knowledge of applicable statutory, regulatory and administrative requirements to direct departmental operations and ensures accountability for the department's compliance; develops and maintains effective, collaborative relationships with all site leadership, specialties, departments including other specialty managers, associates and related vendors; implements specialty quality initiatives in the areas of patient safety, the Joint Commission, specialty accreditation, and performance improvement; participates in the development and administration of both long-term and annual capital plans which include facilities, systems and equipment; iImplements and monitors compliance with revenue integrity processes; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as require; related duties as required.
Qualifications
Graduation from a recognized school of Pharmacy, Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required. Five years' experience as a pharmacist, three years of which were in a supervisory capacity; possession of a controlled substances certificate; licensed by the State of Alabama as Pharmacist; completion of an approved Alabama Board of Pharmacy IV certification program is required within three months of employment. Hospital experience is highly preferred. PharmD/MBA/MHA/MPA preferred.
