What does a Senior Manager, Direct Materials do at Swire Coca-Cola?Lead a team of procurement analysts to secure required inventory for production and to meet or exceed Supply Chain targets through forecasting and ordering raw materials and pro actively addressing supply concerns with vendors. Fully develop inventory strategy and development and deploy execution plans. Design and guide the team to execute on the appropriate measurements and reporting mechanisms. Strengthen supplier relationships while developing optimal inventory positioning, securing on time delivery, and identifying and implementing strategic activities to enable growth in revenue and margins.
ResponsibilitiesMaintains direct material inventory levels according to business demand and achieve goal of zero out-of-stocks. Understand minimum stock levels at each plant to ensure proper inventory. Proactively identify where potential supply risks are and ensure team orders in manner to prevent plant down-time. Coordinate with Plant Managers/Supply Chain Planners on potential supply risk that is unavoidable to shift production to available productEnsures quality and supply issues are addressed in timely manner by suppliers. Empower direct material analysts to work directly with suppliers. Support direct material analysts as needed to close out supplier quality and supply issues. Escalate to director as needed. Find the win-win in challenging situations with internal/external stakeholdersBuilds team's experience and skillset. Optimizes each team member's potential through training, being a good example of what to do, listening, etc. Identify training/experience gaps with team members and identify training opportunities. Engage team members in decision making process to support team member ownership of goals/objectives/issue resolution/etc. Understand systems that team uses and guide through general system issue resolution. Coach team members based on individual needsForecasting. Ensure forecasts are accurate without major swings. Predict supplier issues and mitigate before causes production issues. Train team on how to accurately forecastPresentation Skills. Able to present to VP with limited guidance. Can independently build an executive presentation and present complex topics in a simplistic wayP&L Management. Manages team's P&L. Identifies ways to improve company profitability, creates and implements planTravel as needed to team and supplier locationsPerforms other duties as assigned
RequirementsBachelor's Degree Business, supply chain management, finance, or related field requiredCIPS Training Level 4 or equivalent within 1 year from hire requiredExperience with Inventory reconciliation policies and processes requiredExperience with Shipping and receiving SOP's requiredExperience with Inventory forecasting and ordering required6+ years Supply chain management experience (i.e. ordering, purchasing, etc.) requiredExperience with SAP requiredExperience with automated inventory tracking and management required2+ years Experience leading teams preferredUnderstanding of transportation and raw material market dynamicsProficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and OutlookAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlinesCommunication skills (verbal and written)Ability to manage team remotely
