Job Description
The Pipeline Commercialization Strategy organization leads development of the long-range strategic marketing plan of key assets in AbbVie’s pipeline and the forward-looking disease area strategies. We have a dynamic opportunity for a Director, Pipeline Commercialization Strategy – Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS).
This role will contribute to the HS disease area strategy and will serve as the global commercial lead for HS assets across pipeline deliverable teams.
The Director will report to the Head of Pipeline Commercialization Strategy for Dermatology and will be based in our offices in Lake County, IL.
Key Responsibilities:
Leads brand strategy team for HS and collaborates with cross functional pipeline partners to enable study execution pre-clinical through phase 3 until transition to the on-market team
Conducts asset valuations to determine revenue potential with pipeline forecast, market access and R&D teams to inform financial LRP, portfolio planning and NPV analyses
Develop appropriate SG&A investment to capture forecasted share that generate long-term value
In collaboration with market research leader, identifies key future market; value drivers, segment growth opportunities and target product profiles
Leads development of early brand plans for asset transition to on-market teams
Provides relevant commercial input regarding HCP and patient insights to inform scientific deliverable teams data generation plans to satisfy global and area requirements for target product label and potential product claims
Acts as information conduit between pipeline, asset and on-market commercial teams, fostering high collaboration and effective communication that optimizes asset opportunity
Builds strong relationships with internal and external partners, including executive stakeholders, US/Global on-market commercial leads and external physician experts
Significant Work Activities -Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
Qualifications
Experience required:
Bachelor’s degree required
Pharma, biotech, or consultant firm experience is required
Demonstrated learning agility and ability to make decisions with less than perfect information
Demonstrated effective communicator with ability to tailor strategic implications by audience
10+ years of experience with successful track record in pharma marketing and/or consulting roles
Preferred:
Advanced degree (MBA, Ph.D.)
Experience in Dermatology / Immunology
Previous pipeline management experience
Experience working with external experts
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong financial acumen with understanding of P&L drivers

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
