Position Summary
The
Information Technology Field Operations Coordinator
is a critical member of Blue River PetCare's IT team, responsible for coordinating IT operations and managing projects across our nationwide network of veterinary clinics. This role is central to driving the company's growth by ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure, overseeing diverse IT projects, and developing standardized policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical, organizational and time management skills, an eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. They will also possess strong project management abilities, and a customer service-oriented mindset.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
Partner with Corporate IT and MSPs (Managed Service Providers) to develop and implement standard operating procedures for cybersecurity and IT infrastructure at clinic locations, ensuring consistency and compliance across the network.IT Project Coordination:
Lead and manage IT upgrade projects, including clinic rewires, network equipment upgrades, and internet/phone system enhancements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.Vendor and MSP Management:
Collaborate with third-party MSPs to coordinate the provisioning of equipment, software, and end-user support, ensuring high service levels.Budgeting and Cost Management:
Assist in budgeting for clinic IT projects, identifying opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining high quality and efficiency.IT Request Management:
Oversee the intake, coordination, and prioritization of IT requests from veterinary practices, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of critical issues.Software Support and Vendor Liaison:
Work with software vendors to provide support for clinic practice management software, ensuring systems are fully operational and optimized for clinic use.IT Infrastructure Documentation:
Document and maintain detailed records of all clinic IT infrastructure and third-party software programs, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.Domain Management:
Maintain the company's portfolio of domain names, ensuring they remain active, registered, stable, and secure from threats.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Act as a liaison between corporate IT, field operations, and veterinary practices, ensuring clear communication and alignment of IT initiatives with business goals.Solution Recommendations:
Advise clinics on IT solutions that align with corporate technological policies, strategies, and initiatives, driving operational efficiency.Change Management:
Manage change related to new technology adoption, guiding and supporting teams through transitions to minimize disruptions.Special Projects:
Take on additional duties and special projects as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the IT department and the company.Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Equivalent experience may be consideredBasic Qualifications
2-3 years of relevant work experience in IT administration, preferably within the veterinary or a similar industry.Strong understanding of IT Operations (ITOps) and the ability to apply these principles to medium and small businesses.Familiarity with the ITIL framework and the Service Value System is highly desirable.Exceptional critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and creative problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve challenges with both permanent and temporary solutions.Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple IT projects simultaneously.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders clearly.Familiarity with veterinary practice management software such as AVImark and Cornerstone is a plus.Experience with cloud-based practice management software such as DaySmart Vet, EzyVet, and Covetrus Pulse is a plus.CompTIA Project+ or PMP Certification.CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA Certification.Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (approximately 75% of the time).Frequent communication with remote managers via email and phone, requiring clear and effective communication skills.Regular collaboration with office-based co-workers, emphasizing teamwork and cooperation.Frequent use of computers for data entry and other tasks, requiring proficiency in keyboarding.Ability to travel on average 5-10 days out of every month.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in administering Azure and Office 365 environments.Experience with on-premises Active Directory domain administration.Expertise in managing email and web domains, ensuring stability and security.Strong understanding of networking concepts (e.g., LAN, WAN, VPN) and the ability to troubleshoot network-related issues.Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and experience implementing security protocols to protect sensitive data.Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.Who We Are
