RDIM Data Engineer
at
Select Source Solutions , you will be at the forefront of advancing the
Readiness Decision Impact Model (RDIM) -a vital tool used across the Department of Defense (DoD) to analyze military readiness data. Your work will empower senior leaders with real-time insights to drive critical national defense strategies.
Leveraging the latest technologies, you will design, develop, test, and optimize databases and software systems, including Python-based modeling, data integration, and visualization platforms. This role offers the chance to work with multi-disciplinary teams to enhance military readiness while delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the RDIM:
Use Python to enhance and optimize RDIM, integrating various models across the DoD via the
CDAO's Advana platform . Manage Data Accuracy:
Automate and govern
Force Provider baseline forecast data
to ensure reliability and precision for senior decision-makers. Visual Analytics:
Contribute to the development of the
Readiness Analytics Visualization Environment (RAVEN)
to offer leaders actionable insights via user-friendly interfaces. Compliance & Lifecycle Processes:
Ensure RDIM aligns with
ISO/IEEE 29148-2018
standards, participating in Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) and software deployment efforts. Advanced Data Analysis:
Perform data mining and analysis to uncover insights that inform strategic decision-making. Collaborate Cross-Functionally:
Work closely with the DoD's Data Science, Engineering, and Web Development teams to streamline development processes. Documentation & Governance:
Support the creation and maintenance of programmatic processes, technical design documents, and user guides. Continuous Improvement:
Integrate new models and features to keep RDIM updated and aligned with evolving readiness needs. Configuration Management:
Maintain version control and ensure the RDIM's integrity throughout its lifecycle using best practices in
Git . Teamwork & Independence:
Deliver high-quality solutions independently or in a collaborative team environment, ensuring deadlines and budget targets are met. Additional Duties:
Perform other tasks as assigned by management. Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Experience:
Minimum of
3 years of experience
in data engineering and software development or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in
Python
(required) and experience with
JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, SQL . Familiarity with
DevSecOps
practices, including containerization tools like
Docker
and
Kubernetes . Experience with
cloud platforms
and
database systems . Knowledge of
front-end frameworks
(e.g., React, Vue, or Svelte). Understanding of
Agile/Scrum
methodologies for software development. Proficiency with
Git
for source control.
Additional Requirements:
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Work Arrangement:
Primarily onsite with some hybrid flexibility. Clearance:
Active
Secret clearance
required;
Top Secret
clearance preferred.
