We are helping an innovative financial company hire a Network Engineer for their Chicago office. This position will require you to go onsite five days a week for the first six months of being there. This company develops and implements risk management technology for US equity, futures, and options markets. Their advances solutions are utilized by many of the world's leading hedge funds, bank trading desks, and proprietary trading firms.
In this role, you will oversee the company's computer networks' daily operations and provide first-tier network operations center (NOC) support to clients and vendors. Your responsibilities will include escalating and collaborating with our networking team to address connectivity issues.
Required Skills & ExperienceProficiency in monitoring and analyzing network performance and availabilityExperience providing tier 2/3 network supportComprehensive understanding of networking protocols and infrastructureProficiency in implementing, managing, and troubleshooting networking devices including firewalls, routers, and switchesVendor-specific certifications (e.g., CISCO) are advantageousFamiliarity with CISCO, ARISTA, and Palo Alto Network devices is beneficialKnowledge of multicast configuration is a plusExperience with cloud networking is desirableBackground in client-facing Network Operations Center (NOC) supportNetwork security expertise is valuableSkill in creating precise network diagrams and documentationUnderstanding of financial markets is an assetAptitude for quickly learning new technologies using documentation and online resourcesDesired Skills & Experience
