Job Summary:
The System Engineer will assist with a ~2,000 user environment that is in the process of adding 2x new subsidiaries (150 and 30 users, respectively) and refine/establish essential cloud-based services offered by Microsoft, including on-premise Active Directory and Azure Entra ID. Experience with Microsoft Purview & Microsoft Defender are required to help design and implement security measures for the M365 environment.Additionally, the environment leverages SailPoint IdentityNow for attribute/user brokerage across applications.
Job Responsibilities:
Support the implementation and management of Microsoft Purview for data governance and compliance.Assist in configuring and deploying Microsoft Defender for endpoint protection and threat management.Support implementation and management of security policies, alerts, reports, and audits.Monitor and resolve health, usage, and service incidents related to M365 services. Offer technical support and guidance to end users and IT personnel on M365 services.Keep informed about the latest features, updates, and best practices pertaining to M365 services.Adherence to and application of legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.Assists with the development of information protection strategies and efforts to address security data loss, minimizing impact on business operations
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or related experience5+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator roleExperience configuring/administering Enterprise technology including several of the following: Microsoft Active Directory, Enterprise Security Tools, Windows, Identity Brokerage Systems (SailPoint), Linux, Automation, Scripting, Server Hardware, Virtualization, and Cloud Services.Proficient with PowerShellStrong understanding of Intune/MDMSkilled in incident management and prioritizationCapable of handling multiple projects and initiatives efficientlyExperience in managing vendor communications and relationships
