We support IT organizations by bringing precision technology and operation models that achieve mission capabilities and performance success.Job Title - Network Engineer, Mid (Cloud)Job Summary - The Network Engineer, Mid (Cloud) will develop and deploy plans and designs for network systems that align with organizational requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The role involves conducting network architecture design, feasibility studies, and cost analyses. The Network Engineer II will define monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans to ensure network responsiveness to demand changes. This position requires troubleshooting network issues, developing appropriate solutions, and staying informed on the latest technologies to enhance knowledge of networking hardware, software, and best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and manage network architectures in alignment with the organization's cloud services goals and objectives.
Assist in defining technical requirements for Cloud Service Provider offerings and make architecture recommendations based on industry best practices.
Provide cloud support including strategy, research, assessments, implementation, continuous improvement, and data migration from on-premises to cloud environments and between cloud service providers.
Engage in the strategic planning and implementation of cloud services at NIH, ensuring alignment with NIH's long-term objectives.
Support security operations by performing verification and validation of security vulnerabilities within cloud environments, ensuring compliance with NIST standards and NIH policies.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues effectively and efficiently.
Develop and document deployment processes for network solutions.
Maintain detailed documentation of network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
Prepare and deliver concise reports and presentations summarizing network assessments and recommendations.
Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends in network engineering and cloud services to enhance organizational capabilities.
Provide input on best practices and process improvements for cloud network architecture and management.
QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience in network engineering and cloud services.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in networking technologies, including routing, switching, and security protocols.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud architecture.
Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
Certifications: Vendor-specific certifications (e.g., CCNA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are preferred.
Compensation and BenefitsThe projected compensation range for this position is $87,300 to $115,800 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary is $99,300. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
