The Assistant Director of Admissions holds a pivotal role in overseeing the recruitment and admissions process for prospective students. This position manages the entire admissions cycle, from initial contact through to enrollment, ensuring high-quality service, strategic outreach efforts, and operational efficiency. In collaboration with internal departments, the Assistant Director will actively engage in recruitment events and contribute to the development of innovative strategies to achieve enrollment objectives. Reporting directly to the Director of Admissions, this role serves as the primary support to the director and provides leadership to a team of three professional and two administrative staff. Working closely with the Director, the Assistant Director will contribute to key initiatives aimed at advancing the institution's admissions goals.

Collaborate on developing effective recruitment plans and outreach strategies that align with institutional goals and priorities to include high school visits, college fairs, and community events.

Collaborate on developing scholarship model for first year and transfer enrollments.

Build relationships with high school counselors, prospective students, and parents to promote the institution.

Maintain a strong knowledge of programs, admission requirements, and application procedures.

Partner with the Director to streamline application processing and review procedures, ensuring timely and consistent admissions decisions.

Help manage the selection and evaluation of applicants, ensuring that admissions policies are upheld.

Work together to analyze admissions data and trends, using insights to make informed decisions about recruitment efforts and strategy adjustments.

Assist in preparing reports and presentations on admissions performance and forecasting future enrollment challenges and opportunities.

Collaborate with Campus Visit Specialist on organizing and executing campus events, such as open houses, information sessions, and admitted student days, ensuring alignment with the institution's recruitment goals.

Ensure events are well-coordinated and effectively communicated to prospective students

Coordinate efforts with other departments such as financial aid, academic advising, and student services to ensure a seamless experience for incoming students.

Maintain close working relationships with faculty and staff to better promote academic programs to prospective students

Support the Director in mentoring, training, and guiding the admissions team to ensure they are equipped to meet recruitment goals.

Assist with staff evaluations and performance management within the admissions office.

Collaborate on maintaining compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies related to admissions, including accreditation requirements and best practices in higher education.

Salary range $75,000 - $85,000

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization

Three to five years of admissions or related professional experience

The ability to manage a variety of projects and responsibilities

Two or more years of experience working with a CRM application

Three or more years of supervisory experience

Exemplary written and oral communication skills

Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills

Preferred Requirements:

Master's degree

Knowledge of SUNY Polytechnic Institute

Three to five years of experience working with a CRM application (Slate preferred).

Experience working with a student information system (Banner preferred)
