The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy is currently seeking a full time Associate Director, Admissions to work in Coral Gables, FL. The Associate Director, Admissions, designs, implements and executes comprehensive recruitment and admission outreach program that results in meeting targeted enrollment goals of the University. Participates in all activities related to the admission of students to undergraduate and graduate study. Leads and manages a team of admission professionals responsible for admission and recruitment related programs including open houses and special events.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Leads a team of admission professionals in developing recruitment strategies and planning.
Creates a calendar of events in support of the recruitment strategy, including, but not limited to, information sessions, school visits, interviews, and webinars.
Assesses strategy effectiveness to determine impact on enrollment and makes recommendations for improvement.
Oversees a team of admission professionals in charge of executing admission and recruitment related programs.
Assists with planning and coordinating all campus visit programs including daily information sessions, campus tours, open houses, and additional special events.
Organizes and leads counseling sessions and workshops on the application and admissions process.
Plays a lead role in managing the travel recruiting budget that will be necessary to implement targeted enrollment strategies.
Analyzes enrollment reports from a variety of sources and makes recommendations.
Conducts training sessions for department staff to assist in developing and accessing recruitment and marketing efforts.
Performs employee evaluations of direct reports as well as salary recommendations.
Assists in developing and updating University of Miami admissions publications.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

Department Specific Functions
The Associate Director of Admissions will be a service-focused, effective communicator with excellent leadership skills, driving strategic efforts and improving quality of service for the University of Miami, Department of Physical Therapy’s graduate and residency programs. The Associate Director of Admissions will report to the Director of Programs and Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy. In addition, the Associate Director of Admissions will drive efforts toward increasing student enrollment, retention rates, and overall student success.
Adheres to the goals and objectives of the university and makes recommendations regarding plans, policies, and procedures in the area of delegated responsibility.
Manages the strategy and execution of the day-to-day operations of the area.
Develop, execute, and assess policies, procedures and data processing systems of the Admissions Office.
Supervise, manage, evaluate, select, hire, and discipline as necessary, all regular full-time, graduate student assistants and temporary admissions personnel.
Present the University, medical school, and department with studies, reports, and analyses of admissions data as requested.
Monitors and ensures adherence to admissions process and standards, including those processes endorsed and required by CAPTE and ACAPT.
Plan and execute the student recruitment strategy for DPT, PhD and residency students.
Develop partnerships with other programs within the University and/or off-campus
Recruit, train, motivate, and coach staff within the Admissions Office
Oversee the conversion of inquiries to applicants, and applicants to new students.
Responsible for the setup and maintenance of the centralized application systems (PTCAS, RF-PTCAS) for graduate and residency programs.
Planning and logistics of interview sessions for graduate and residency programs.
Responsible for the development, management, and adherence to the Admissions departmental budget, including accurate forecasting of needs.
Responsible for following up on student experience in admissions process.
Work closely with the University’s Student Services to ensure strong retention.
Assist in development of coordinated financial aid, advisement and registration processes for new students.
Manage and participate in recruitment and admissions activities such the White Coat Ceremony, orientation, graduation, student fund-raising and the career fair.
Oversee the design of promotional literature and display materials for admissions recruiting and ensure appropriate coordination of admissions and public relations staff.
Attend conventions, meetings, and conferences as necessary to maintain knowledge of existing and new admissions and recruiting policies, practices, and procedures.
Oversees programmatic admissions matters; identifies strategic issues that may impact admissions and recommend direction for the organizational unit.
Oversee the promotion and marketing of student activities at the department, university, state and national level including managing the publication of the departmental newsletter, and communication of departmental activities
Responsible for the scheduling and maintenance of all departmental courses.
Responsible for the DPT and PhD student registrations each semester.
Responsible for the approval of graduation clearances for the Graduate School.
