Director of Accounting
This pivotal role requires a experience in funding payroll globally. The Director of Accounting will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of the company, with a specific focus on the entire financial close process. This is a hands-on role requiring a leader who can dive deep into the details while also providing strategic financial guidance. The position offers the flexibility of remote work, with occasional required visits to the office located in Fort Lauderdale.
Key Responsibilities:Financial Management:Oversee and manage the entire financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results.Understanding full cycle funding practices for both domestic & internationalPrepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and controls, as well as relevant accounting standards and regulations.Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
Operational Leadership:Lead the financial operations team, providing guidance, mentoring, and development opportunities to ensure high performance.Collaborate with other departments, including HR, operations, and sales, to provide financial insights and support.Implement and manage financial systems and software to optimize efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and operations.
Compliance and Audit:Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other relevant financial regulations.Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Manage external audits, coordinating with auditors and ensuring all necessary documentation and information are provided.
Strategic Planning and Analysis:Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to the executive team.Assist in the development of financial strategies and plans to support the company's growth and profitability.Participate in strategic planning meetings, providing financial expertise and guidance.
Ad Hoc Projects:Lead or participate in special projects related to financial operations, such as system implementations, process improvements, and mergers/acquisitions.
Qualifications:Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.Experience:
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial operations, with a significant portion of that time spent in the staffing, recruiting, or consulting industries.Skills:
Extensive experience with the full financial close process.Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems Netesuite or similar.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and leadership abilities.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.High attention to detail and accuracy.Employer of Record Industry ExperienceExperience working in a remote or hybrid work environment.
