Description
The Hockomock Area YMCA is hiring School Age Site Directors for school locations in North Attleboro, MA. The Site Director is responsible for programming and supervision of the School Age licensed program and plans and implements a program of activities that ensures each child's safety and provides entertainment and learning experiences. This position works a flexible split shift to be determined by candidate and leadership. Morning hours start at 6:45am. Afternoon hours end at 6pm.
Essential FunctionsEnsures EEC regulations are followed at all timesDevelops, supervises, and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum plan during before and after school and half days, while including enrichment activities, indoor and outdoor time, physical activity, health and nutrition, STEM, and homeworkIn programs with less than 52 children, provides direct care to a group of children to maintain ratioEstablishes a supportive and positive environment for staff, children, and familiesTreats children with dignity and respect, recognizing individuality and diversityInterviews, hires, trains, and schedules staff, ensuring proper ratios are metSupervises site staff, documenting observations and feedback and providing written evaluation of their work performanceReviews and approves time cards for direct reportsProvides direction and guidance to staffConducts staff meetingsEnsures proper maintenance of equipment and work and play areasResponsible for inventory and ordering supplies and snacksCommunicates regularly with staff and supervisorIs available to families during program hours for concerns and issues that ariseEnsures all staff greet each child and caregiver each day as they enter and exit the programEffectively communicates program schedule and policies to familiesSubmits required attendance weekly and EEC logs and reports monthly for administrative reviewMaintains the necessary records involving attendance, program registrations, and documents required for state licensingEnsures that proper release procedures are followed and appropriate identification is shownAttends back-to-school nights and holds at least two family events for site during the school yearReports accidents and injuries, and completes incident reports as neededArrives on time and preparedPartners with school personnel to coordinate efforts, share Y stories, and build relationshipsParticipates in professional development, complying with the licensing requirement of a minimum of 20 hours of training per year and furthering knowledge in the fieldProvides support to YMCA Branch and Association Special EventsSupports and promotes Reach Out For Youth & Families Scholarship CampaignRequirements
At least 20 years of ageBachelor's Degree with at least 9 months experience with school age children, or a High School diploma and at least 1 year working with school age childrenCPR/AED and First Aid certifications requiredEvidence of a physical examination within the last 12 monthsEvidence of 2 MMR immunizations or a Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubellaAbility to create and sustain a culture of excellenceAbility to work and thrive as part of a cohesive teamAbility to lift/move heavy equipment and clean as necessaryStrong oral communication skills
