What will your job look like?
The
Manager, HR
will support the organizations vision and goals by providing direct support to our Gilbert and Peoria locations that fall under our Valley Metro contract. The
Manager, HR
will provide direct support with labor relations and human resources matters, gathering, collecting, and maintaining documentation and records required for contract and policy development, investigations, and negotiations.
Location:
Onsite at our Valley Metro location (436 S Hamilton Court, Gilbert, AZ 85233)
What you'll do:
Provide day-to-day guidance, hands-on support, and developmental guidance employees and site leadershipHandle all labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements; refer complex matters to appropriate management staffTrack all information requests, hearing, and grievance timelines from initiation to completion to ensure adherence to contract requirementsServe as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaintsConduct interviews and gather information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; inform appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is requiredAssist with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, leave, transfer, and promotion particularly as related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action, and diversity initiativesCompletion of employee files to include review and assistance with client audit requirementsFacilitate attendance tracking and coordination of disciplinary actions as a result of attendance violationsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of company policies, employment law, and common HR practicesConduct surveys, interviews, and other research related to human resource policies, compensation, and other labor negotiations; collect information and report results to Sr. HR Manager or Vice President of HRAssist with preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizationsCoordinate meetings between Union Officials, Employees, and LeadershipServe as the initial contact and liaison for leave of absence, payroll, and benefit inquiries; referring employees to appropriate departments as neededPerform other duties as assignedWhat you'll need:
Experience, Education & Certifications:
High School Diploma of GEDBachelor's degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience5+ years' experience in Human Resources/ Employee Relations or similar roleStrong knowledge of human resources policies/procedures and knowledge of local, state, and federal employment/labor lawsSkills:
Knowledge of and ability to understand and apply federal and state employment laws (e.g., EEO, OSHA, FMLA, FLSA)Ability to handle a high level of sensitive and confidential matters tactfully and professionallyStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work well under pressure and in stressful situations within a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently and collaboratively with others to achieve defined goals, handle inquiries, and resolve issues within a timely and constructive mannerConsultative and customer service orientation with all levels of employeesDemonstrated experience and skill in conducting workplace investigations, analyzing information in relation to the relevant employment laws, collective bargaining agreements, trends, policies, and procedures, and use sound judgment to draw valid conclusions and/or recommendationsAbility to maintain effective working relationships all levels of employees and both internal and external stakeholdersExcellent presentation skillsEffective communication skillsCoaching effectivenessDetail orientedEven better if you have...
