Job Description

There are currently five (5) Assistant Director of Compliance positions within the Athletics Compliance Department that together oversee and are responsible for the followingMonitors compliance related issues in the areas of education, financial aid and scholarships and recruiting activities.Coordinates rules education programs, ensuring University and departmental staff, coaches, student-athletes, and representatives of athletics interest understand and abide by NCAA and Big 12 Conference rules and regulations.Monitors for compliance of NCAA rules, including complimentary admissions, camps and clinics, practice and playing seasons, student athlete awards, student athlete vehicle use, student athlete employment, student athlete drug testing program, and team and post season travel.Maintains booster travel affidavitsOversees and administers student-athlete eligibility including initial eligibility evaluations, review of amateur status, and coordination of the walk-on process.Performs monitoring for recruiting activities for select sports.Provides oversight and monitoring of financial aid and scholarships.Reviews facilities usage, foundation and medical expenses, outside consultant registration, equipment review and monitoring, and team building and entertainment activities for all sports.Oversees social networking sites; message boards; websites; newspapers; radio.Distributes and monitors proper completion of NCAA, Big 12 conference, and institutional paperwork for student athletes.Assists with governance and legislation and student athlete background check procedures.Assists with waiver requests and violation reports associated with area of expertiseConducts regular spot checks.Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.Job Requirements

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree,

AND:

6 months experience in one of the following areas: legal, business, management, leadership, compliance, or administrative.Skills :

Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff.Must be able to read and interpret policy.Strong initiative to solve problems in a timely manner.Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.Certifications :

NoneAdvertised Physical Requirements:

Sit for prolonged periods. Communicate effectively. Ability to engage in repetitive motion.Standard office environment.Departmental Preferences:

Juris Doctorate or Master's Degree12 months full-time experience handling NCAA compliance issues
