Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to perform all necessary activities to process various payrolls, while working with the field offices to audit and input employment changes including benefits, taxation, and time files. The ideal candidate will have experience processing multi-state payrolls of various frequencies (i.e., weekly, bi-weekly) in the United States and Canada.

Responsibilities• Work closely with Senior Accountant and Payroll Team Lead to ensure the accurate and timely posting of journal entries from the payroll system• Communication amongst various colleagues within the HR, Legal & Finance Departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data• Prompt response and resolution to employees• Assist accounting with month-end close reconciliations and fluctuation analysis related to salary accounts• Ensure the processing of new hires, promotions, and terminations in an accurate and timely manner• Assure payroll information is accurate through review, audit, and completion of all payroll reconciliations on bi-weekly basis• Input and maintain payroll changes including 401K elections, direct deposits, garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, stock payments, and payroll adjustments• Set up state filings and identification numbers for newly added states resulting from implementation of workforce plan• Ability to process manual checks, reversals, stop payments, relocations, and grossed up calculations• Conduct audits of data changes and requests to ensure compliancy with company policy and practices• Ability to track vacation and sick time accruals according to state labor laws and company policy• Knowledge of multi-state taxation & follows all Federal and State payroll laws.• Full understanding of and using payroll codes and transactions• Ability to run pre payroll reports and reconcile all payroll data prior to transmission to payroll provider• Support with the registration process for new state tax compliance• Perform all duties with integrity, accuracy, timeliness, and customer-service orientation• Other duties and projects assigned

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:• Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of multi-state payroll experience performing the essential payroll functions; 8+ years in lieu of degree• Advanced MS Excel Skills• Must have strong attention to detail, and the ability to accurately deliver in a fast-paced environment• Understanding of IRS guidelines for Pre and Post tax deductions• Understanding of IRS compliance and limitations• Self-Starter and is able to accomplish expected tasks with minimal supervision• Ability to multi-task and maintain composure under pressure.• Must have the ability to exercise a high level of diplomacy and tact; excellent customer services and interpersonal communication skills; Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups.• Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing Information, financial reporting, conflict resolution, applicable state and federal laws• Detail oriented and strong organizational skills• Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through on own initiative with minimum direction• Must be team-orientedPreferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:• Knowledge of Workday a plus***Orlando and local resumes only.
