Summary/Objective
The Plant Manager position is responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Essential Functions
1.Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
2.Maintains staff by orienting and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
3.Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within the department.
4.Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
5.Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
6.Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
7.Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
8.Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
9.Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
10.Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
11.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
12.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
13.Achieve and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for the plant.

Work Environment
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product over 10 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, welding shields and guards, hearing protectors, steel toed work boots and when necessary, hardhats.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Minimal travel is expected for this position.
Preferred Education and Experience
1.Bachelor's degree.
2.5+ years of management experience in a metal manufacturing environment.
3.Previous quality management experience.
4.Technical expertise in metal manufacturing (Welding, CNC machining, drawings, bending, plasma cutting, blast, paint)
