$24.00 - $36.00 Department Details At Good Samaritan Society - Wamego, we operate a 45-bed long-term care facility. Full Time - 72 Hours in a bi-weekly pay period Evening/Night Shift - 6:00pm to 6:00am - 12 Hour Shift Rotating weekends and holidays Must possess a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Kansas Job Summary As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide vital nursing care to residents in long-term care settings, working under the guidance of registered nurses, advanced practice providers, or physicians. Your expertise in nursing principles will be essential in ensuring that residents receive comprehensive, age-appropriate care tailored to their individual needs. You will possess the ability to assess situations, recommend solutions, and respond effectively during emergencies. Your responsibilities will include: Ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of residents. Participating in resident assessments and managing medication or treatment as ordered. Providing technical support to the healthcare team as required. Documenting care details to reflect interactions and outcomes. Building effective relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and families. Communicating clearly and upholding confidentiality regarding sensitive information. Counseling residents and families about care plans under the guidance of registered nurses or physicians. Developing self-care programs based on resident education principles. Completing additional duties as needed. Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should have: Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program. An associate degree in practical nursing is preferred. A current, unencumbered LPN license in Kansas with multi-state licensure privileges preferred. Completion of supervised clinical experience as part of your nursing program or a minimum of 400 hours working as an LPN at another facility. Up-to-date department-specific competencies and certifications. Ongoing completion of required annual continuing education units (CEUs) and training.
