Job Category:Manufacturing/OperationsJob Family:Operations LeadershipJob Description:The Plant Manager provides leadership and direction to partners of a Schreiber Foods plant. Continuously improve cost, safety, quality and service of the products produced through the development of teamwork at the plant level as well as the use of cross-functional teams with suppliers, other Schreiber Foods groups and customers. Establishes and maintains a plant culture conducive to teamwork and continuous improvement.This position is located onsite at our beverage production facility in Grand Rapids, MI. What you'll do:Assures fair and equitable HR and personnel programs are developed and maintained consistent with the company direction.Leads the plant's activities in improving performance in the areas of cost, safety, quality and service.Together with the plant team, develops and maintains a work environment which is both safe and sanitary.Provides leadership in the production of finished product while improving various Fixed costs and various Variable costs.Represents Schreiber Foods, Inc., in contact with regulatory agencies, local customers, and the community. (Regulatory agencies include USDA, OSHA, EEOC, FDA, EPA, DNR, etc.)Recommends and assures the prudent use of capital dollars in the acquisition and maintenance of equipment/facilities.Negotiates lease and supply agreements as applicable.Utilizes innovative compensation programs to motivate/recognize performance (skill based pay, incentives, etc.)Provides coaching and career development assistance to staff members.Actively seeks as understanding of market conditions.Create and support the Process Excellence culture and team environment.Together with the leadership team, ensures compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements. Interprets and communicates customer requirements to plant production and/or support groups. Establishes and Audits PCPs, CCPs and Standard Operating Procedures to define and monitor processes, to ensure customer requirements are met. Reviews incidents during which the procedures are not met, and determines appropriate corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures.EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:Bachelors: Business, Food/Dairy Science, Supply Chain Mgmt., EngineeringProduction/operations leadership within a mid to large sized manufacturing facility5 years minimum total plant leadership experience with 3-5 years or more of aseptic production experienceProven results in the area of team development and process improvementKnowledge of sanitation protocols, sterilization process, contamination control, documentation, process authority processes and product quality attributes for aseptic production.Thorough understanding of the principles of aseptic processing and maintenance of sterile conditions.Skills: (Describe any special skill and/or competency requirements applicable to this position.)Strong collaborative leadership skillsEffective Communicator; Sensitive ListenerResults OrientedCreative problem solverGood strategistEligible partners will receive:Get not one, but TWO retirement benefits.
