Position Description The Computer Science Department at the College of Charleston invites applications for 1 tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position starting in August 2025.

The rapidly growing Computer Science department ( https://charleston.edu/compsci/ ) has over 540 students who are enrolled in six undergraduate degree programs and two master's programs. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, collegiality, and a passion for teaching. For an associate professor appointment, the successful candidate must have an active research program in a software engineering subdiscipline, a successful publication record, and years of experience qualifying for the associate rank. For an assistant professor appointment, the successful candidate must demonstrate promise to maintain an active research program and successful teaching in a software-engineering subdiscipline. Industry experience relevant to software engineering is a plus for candidates at either rank. The successful candidate will provide support to a new Software Engineering bachelors program and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. An earned Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or closely related field is required by August 15, 2025.

Preference for this position will be given to candidates who have research, industry, and teaching experience in the general area of software engineering or any software engineering subdiscipline. Apply online at
