As a Technical Designer at mad Engine Global, you will be a key player in ensuring the seamless transition of apparel designs from concept to production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, translating creative visions into technical specifications. Your expertise in garment construction, patternmaking, and fit analysis will be instrumental in delivering products that meet our high standards of quality and design.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

Collaboration with Design and Production Teams:

Work closely with designers to interpret creative concepts into technical specifications.Collaborate with production teams to ensure the feasibility of design elements from a technical perspective.Patternmaking and Fit Analysis:

Create and modify patterns for prototypes and production runs.Conduct fit sessions, providing expertise on garment fit and making necessary adjustments.Technical Documentation:

Develop and maintain detailed technical specifications for patterns, grading, and construction methods.Communicate technical requirements to suppliers and production teams.Quality Control:

Conduct thorough quality control assessments on prototypes and production samples, ensuring adherence to design specifications.Problem Solving:

Identify and address technical challenges during the product development process.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to find effective solutions.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field.3+ years of experience as a Technical Designer in the apparel industry.Proficient in patternmaking software and CAD systems.Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern development, and fit analysis.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Working conditions

The environment can be fast-paced and requires the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet various deadlines. Although it is a casual work environment, professionalism and proper work etiquette are expected.

Physical/Mental Requirements

This position is mostly stationary. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus to accommodate frequent reading and analyzing details on various spreadsheets and templates. The person in this position frequently communicates with various other departments and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. High levels of problem-solving analytical thinking and interpreting data are required daily in order to make the appropriate decisions in each scenario.
