The Peddie School is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory school for boarding

and day students located in Hightstown, New Jersey. Peddie is committed to the intellectual, social and moral growth of each of its students. The total student enrollment for grades 9 through post-graduate is 530 students; 48% are domestic students of color and 19% hold citizenship outside of the United States. Overview

Peddie School is seeking an Assistant Director of Admission whose primary responsibility will be

to assist with campus events. This person will assist with all aspects of the admission and

recruitment process and have a strong interest in working in an independent boarding school

environment. This admission officer will report directly to the Director of Admission and join an

admission team that currently consists of eight admission officers, a manager of admissions

operations, an international student and financial aid coordinator, and a visit coordinator. This

is a full-time non-teaching faculty position that will run from December 1, 2024 to June 15,

2025.

Responsibilities and Duties

Represent all facets of Peddie School and articulate the school's mission and values to potential applicants and their families.Cultivate relationships with educational consultants, placement directors, and prospective families to promote the value and outcomes of the Peddie experience and the importance of having a diverse student body.Conduct interviews with prospective students, meet with parents, write interview summary reports and have follow-up communication with families.Evaluate applications for admission and participate in the committee selection process.Play an integral role in the planning and execution of all on-campus recruiting and yield events such as Spring Revisit Days.Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admission.Other duties as assigned by the Head of School possibly including residential and athletic or co-curricular responsibilities.Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree required.Knowledge of independent schools; at least 2-3 years of admission experience secondary or higher education) preferred.Strong sense of initiative to identify and engage new opportunities that move the collective work of the admission office forward.Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.High degree of comfort and experience with computer technology.An ability to work both independently and collaboratively.A comfort level to speak in front of a variety of audiences including large and diverse groups.Strong sense of teamwork and enthusiasm for working with students.A good sense of humor and an ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.Willing to travel up to 2 weeks in the spring.Willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
