We're looking for software engineers who understand the internet, follows modern Java, and can apply solutions to a plethora of areas on the project.Duties and Responsibilities:Perform design, coding, configuration, and unit testing.Working on problems in several areas, including modernization, system interfaces, scalability with load and capacity, usability and accessibility upgrades, and refactoring.Performing software development with the following technologies: Java, J2EE, Eclipse or NetBeans IDEs, JSP, SOA, XML Beans, Struts/Spring, Hibernate/ibatis, Maven/Ant, WebLogic, Apache Tomcat.Day to day work with multi-tier web-based applications, user interfaces and user interaction.Hands on work with relational databases (Oracle), REST/SOAP Services.Knowledge of XHTML, JSP, JSTL, with CSS styles applied.Employee will be contributing to and consuming Open-Source projects.Utilizing problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills to tackle complex issues.
Requirements:5+ years of software experience, both front and back end development experience.Bachelor degree in Web Design, IT, Computer Science or related discipline.At least 2 years of experience in developing and maintaining applications.Meticulous attention to detail, ability to be innovative with strong interpersonal skills.Detail oriented and organized in development and documentation.Ability to thrive in a team-based environment.Problem-solving aptitude.Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Agile and ScrumExperience with project management tools (JIRA)Knowledge of JIRA and version control systemsRe-Architecting legacy applicationsAutomation Testing Tools such as JUnitDemonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft 365 Copilot and other AI-driven tools to enhance productivity in daily development tasks, including writing technical documentation, generating progress reports, summarizing project meetings, and preparing feature presentations.Skilled in guiding team members to leverage Microsoft 365 Copilot to improve collaboration, streamline development workflows, and enhance coding and project management efficiency.
Compensation and BenefitsThe projected compensation range for this position is $114,300 to $147,400 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary for this role is $132,300. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
