Residential Applications Engineer - Hydronics Specialist

This position forms part of the Residential Applications team and is responsible for front line application engineering to help expand the use of Daikin products in the North American HVAC marketplace. Core functions include project level support to the Daikin Business Unit sales team, Motili, and our network of manufacturer Reps & /Distributors. In addition, to execute tactics to strengthen the spec-in ratio and conversion of all appropriate projects to Daikin products and technologies.

Provide project level application support to Daikin sales staff and our network of Daikin Manufacturer Reps & Distributors in the North American marketUtilize sales tools to support Distributors, Manufacturers Representatives, Contractors, Engineers Builders regarding design & application of equipment 1ph equipment in both residential and commercial applicationsSpecification Support: Instruction & guidelines to create better Daikin specs for Reps, Builders EngineersProject Support: Instructions & guidelines, best practices to enhance system applications and set up in different residence types and climatesCompetitor conversion and comparison skills to maximize Daikin's opportunities for all projectsCodes & Standards Support: Provide high level support and understanding for applicable national and local codes and standardsProvide input & guidance to marketing team for the creation of Technical Tools / Selection GuidesRepresent Daikin at networking events and seminarsAssist in project development by providing alternate equipment selections and optionsParticipate in additional projects to support ongoing business needsCreate technical documentation and presentations for use by Daikin staff and sales partnersProvide technical presentations in the field to our sales partnersTrain the trainer: Provide insight & guidance to colleagues tasked with presenting application materialsApplies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experienceManages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervisionCoaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionalsProblems faced are difficult and sometimes complex; takes a new perspective on existing solutionsKnowledge of HVAC products, load calculations, building controls, duct design and installation practicesExcellent presentation and written/verbal communication skillsAbility to manage and respond to technical questionsMust have computer proficiency - Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPointAbility to create and develop company-wide documents, tools, practices, and processesAbility to interact effectively and provide information to customers, consultants, and internal personnel, including senior management, Daikin Corporate PersonnelPositive, flexible Attitude: With a can-do approach to solving problemsProblem Solving: Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems, to resolve issuesCommunication, negotiation, persuasion: Regularly exchange supportive information, ideas, opinions, and thoughts with staff at all levels so issues can be handled with mutual understanding and effectiveness. Experience: 5 plus years of HVAC industry experience
Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree (in engineering preferred) or equivalent, relevant industry experience
