The Commodity Manager oversees commodities for direct material in support of HVAC market operations, specifically raw materials and flow control devices..Identify and engage with engineering, operations, and quality to understand commodity requirements and ensure supply base is aligned. Responsible for development and execution of commodity strategy.Will conduct or support negotiations and supplier selection.Responsible for delivering commodity driven cost down through price negotiations, value analysis (VA/VE) or supplier continuous improvement.Support Supplier Relationship Management and will facilitate and lead supplier commodity reviews for strategic suppliers.Responsible for continuity of supply including actively monitoring and mitigating supplier risk.
Position Responsibilities may include;
Responsible for development and execution of commodity strategies for assigned commodities.Accountability to provide analytical support in all commercial negotiations and supplier selections within assigned commodities.Maintains ownership of supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, and will manage execution of SRM reviews.Supports global synergy efforts for the direct materials organization for assigned commodities.Builds and supports a pipeline of cost savings projects for sustainable year over year productivity, or cost down.Will track and drive dual sourcing initiatives for supplier risk mitigation efforts.Responsible for execution and reporting of supplier contracting initiatives.Supports director as required on developing commodity strategy documents, and 3-5 year growth playbook plans.Responsible for weekly executive reporting on all financial cost down projects for assigned commodities.Perform additional activities/projects as needed to support the business.Nature & Scope:

Experience:
2 + years of progressive experience in a commodity management, or strategic sourcing role preferably in a high volume manufacturing environmentEducation/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Business, Supply Chain,or related fieldPeople Management: No
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
