ATHLETIC EVENT WORKER

Salary Range: $18.00/hrMultiple Temporary PositionsSchedule/Hours per day: Varies

QUALIFICATIONS

:

Previous experience working in events, hospitality, or sporting events preferred. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours based on event schedules. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.). Familiarity with basic audio/visual equipment setup and troubleshooting is a plus. Basic math skills for handling ticket sales and scorekeeping. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Criminal Justice Background Clearance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Part-Time Athletic Event Worker supports school district athletic events by assisting with event setup, crowd monitoring, game management, and event breakdown. Sport specific rule knowledge may be required for certain event tasks. This role ensures that district and community events run smoothly and comply with WIAA and TSD Guidelines. The position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, depending on the event calendar. RESPONSIBILITIES

:Assist in the setup and breakdown of events, including arranging furniture, equipment, signage, and other event-related materials.Operate audio/visual equipment, scoreboards, play clocks, and other technology needed for events if necessary as part of assigned role at event.Take tickets, handle cash or electronic payments, and verify entry at district events (e.g., sports games, performances, etc.).Serve as a scorekeeper or sport book keeper at athletic events, ensuring accurate recording of scores and statistics, if necessary.Monitor events to ensure district policies and safety protocols are followed.Provide excellent customer service to event attendees, district staff, and external clients using district facilities.Assist with crowd control and traffic flow during large events, if necessary.Respond promptly to event issues or emergencies, reporting concerns to the site supervisor and following the facility emergency action plan.Assist with additional tasks or duties as assigned by the site supervisor.REQUIRMENTS:

Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the district facilities.Lifting and moving event-related equipment, furniture and supplies.Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments depending on event.
