Description and Requirements
We are hiring a Technical Architect to work with our Smart Collaboration Product Development team, developing Unified Communication products including meeting room cameras, speakers, microphones, Microsoft Teams Rooms devices, Zoom Rooms devices, smart displays, and more, with internal and external partners globally.
The Technical Architect will focus on Architecture Design for our next generation of unified communication video and audio system by engagement with SW and HW partners such as Microsoft / Zoom / Google / Intel / Qualcomm, etc.
Additional responsibilities include:
Collaborate with clients to understand their AV needs and opportunity
Collaborate with and influence UC SW partners such as Microsoft, Zoom, Google to architect next generation of video and audio system
Design meeting room video and audio system architecture including control and network component
Create detailed video and audio system specifications, design, and building blocks
Lead prototype development with vendors and feasibility assessment when necessary
Creatively influence audio and video feature roadmaps with collaboration with stakeholders such as marketing and business team
Meet with top customers and partners to solicit feedback on next generation concepts and build their confidence in Lenovo’s future device capabilities
Key Interaction with:
Smart Collaboration product development HW/FW/SW engineers in Japan / China
Marketing and Program Manager team in United States
External key partners such as Microsoft, Zoom, Google, Intel, Qualcomm
Top customer accounts/Channel Partner as well as serving as development representative at customer advisory councils and Partner Advisory Councils
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering/Science, or equivalent
8+ years of experience in developing and architecting unified communication products or similar technology.
Proven experience collaborating with major SW and HW partners (e.g., Microsoft, Zoom, Google, Intel, Qualcomm).
Experience in designing and developing AV (Audio/Video) systems, particularly for meeting rooms.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of unified communication technologies and protocols.
Proficiency in AV system design, including video and audio components, control systems, and network integration.
Experience with prototype development and feasibility assessment.
Knowledge of system specifications, design principles, and building blocks for AV solutions.
Strong collaboration skills to work with internal teams (HW, FW, SW engineers) and external partners.
Ability to creatively influence and contribute to the audio and video feature roadmap.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical discussions and make critical decisions.
Familiarity with current and next-generation unified communication products and trends.
Ability to work in a global environment and manage interactions across different time zones and cultures.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
This position will be based in our North America Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Our office has transitioned to a hybrid work environment supporting 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. To be considered, candidates need to be local to Raleigh or willing to relocate on their own.
