Job Summary

As a purchase manager, you will be responsible for handling the procurement process, sourcing operational suppliers and managing vendor relationships to ensure seamless purchasing to optimize costs. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, make strategic decisions and implement best practices within our procurement function.

Essential Responsibilities and MetricsDeveloping and implementing procurement strategies and policies for cost optimization. Sets up purchasing ordering, tracking software.Reviews and processes purchase orders and requests. Maintains records of goods ordered and received. Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfillment of orders.Identifying, evaluating and selecting vendors based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness. Builds and maintains relationships with vendors. Negotiates prices and contracts with suppliers. Evaluates vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price.Coordinates with fellow managers to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise.Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and implementation, as necessary.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration preferred.2-3 years' experience as a purchasing manager or agent.Experience using procurement software and databases.
