Parker and Sons is looking for a
Safety Manager
who is ready to use their skills in making a difference in leading our Safety from the Heart Culture and getting our Team Members home safely to their families every night! The Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and enforcing safety programs across Parker and Sons, which operates multiple locations specializing in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Solar, and Insulation. This role includes the development, implementation, and management of safety procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations, and cultivating a strong safety culture across all facilities and teams. The Safety Manager will lead all aspects of safety, from conducting audits to managing workers' compensation, vendor relationships, and MVR compliance for employees who drive for the company.

Duties/Responsibilities of Position:
Safety Leadership & Culture:
Lead the company's efforts to promote a safety-conscious culture, integrating safety into daily operations and decision-making. Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related concerns and ensure all employees understand the importance of safety in their work.Training & Compliance:Develop, deliver, and enforce safety training programs, including Safety Talks, Defensive Driving, and Safety Orientation for new hires. Ensure training programs meet regulatory requirements and are effectively implemented company-wide. Training may be developed in-house or sourced externally.Field Safety Inspections & Audits:Oversee safety inspections and audits of all Parker and Sons warehouses and buildings. Work with Field Inspectors to ensure regular inspections are carried out and use inspection results to identify risks and develop training or policy changes as needed.Emergency Planning:Create, implement, and regularly update emergency response plans for all locations. Ensure emergency plans are communicated clearly to employees and that all sites have the necessary resources and training to handle emergencies.Workers' Compensation & Claims Management:Oversee workers' compensation claims and auto claims from initiation to resolution, ensuring that proper documentation and investigations are completed. Collaborate with insurance carriers to mitigate claims and maximize subrogation. Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure employees receive appropriate care at the lowest cost, and manage return-to-work and modified duty programs to minimize lost workdays.Lytx Management:Manage the relationship with Lytx, the vendor providing vehicle telematics and safety technology. Ensure compliance with Lytx's safety programs, and monitor driver safety through the system. Address unsafe driving behaviors and ensure that all employees who drive for the company adhere to safety standards.MVR Management:Oversee the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) management process for all employees who drive for the company, ensuring their driving records are in compliance with safety standards and legal requirements.Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations, maintain the OSHA log, and complete yearly OSHA reporting. Perform root cause analysis on accidents and incidents and provide corrective actions in collaboration with department heads. Produce monthly reports for the executive team on safety performance, training, and incident trends.PPE & Fire Extinguisher Management:Ensure adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and being properly used across all locations. Manage fire extinguishers for both facilities and vehicles, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with regulations. Collaborate with the purchasing department to source PPE and safety equipment at competitive prices.Vendor Relationships & Budgeting:Manage relationships with external vendors related to safety equipment, training, and services. Plan and manage the annual safety budget, including forecasting for training, equipment, and compliance needs.Incident Reduction & Continuous Improvement:Establish and monitor goals for reducing safety incidents, claims, and lost workdays. Continuously seek opportunities for improving safety practices and reducing costs while maintaining compliance and protecting employees.Qualifications
Position Specific Competencies/Skills Required:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management or a related role (industry-specific experience is not required).Experience with workers' compensation and claims management.Certifications:OSHA 30 Certification or willingness to obtain it within the first year of employment.Other relevant safety certifications are a plus but not required.Technical Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting, data analysis, and presentations.Familiarity with safety management software and Lytx telematics systems (preferred but not required).Communication & Interpersonal Skills:Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present safety information effectively to employees and leadership. Able to work collaboratively across departments and with external vendors.Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills:Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Capable of conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.Self-Management & Organization:Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision and work both independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills for managing safety documentation, training records, and regulatory compliance reports.
