JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Director of Student Support Services assists the Assistant Vice Provost in overseeing and coordinating support services for various departments, including Student Accessibility Services, Study Abroad, Diversity & Inclusion, and International Student Scholar Services. The Associate Director will serve as an alternate DSO, support Dream.US Scholars, and enhance services for multicultural students.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing a caseload of SAS-referred students with various learning challenges due to documented disabilities
Assist the Assistant Vice Provost in the strategic planning and management of Student Support Services departments.Act as an alternate Designated School Official (DSO) and ensure compliance with federal immigration regulations for international students.Provide support and advocacy for Dream.US Scholars and other multicultural student groups.Develop and implement programs and services that support the academic and personal success of diverse student populations.Collaborate with department heads to enhance services and ensure alignment with institutional goals.Manage special projects and initiatives aimed at improving student support services.Assist in the development of staff training and professional development programs to foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity.OTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS
Implementing approved supplemental activities and programs to assist with learning, social, and employment challenges that target areas outside of the classroom (i.e. WRP program recruiting, disability awareness tables); performing other duties as assigned by the SAS Director and CTL Executive Director.Performs other duties as assigned.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, or a related field.At least five years of experience in student support services, diversity and inclusion, or a related area.Experience working with international students and knowledge of federal immigration regulations.Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
