JOB PURPOSE:

The Family Medicine Program Coordinator plays a crucial role at El Rio Health. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and success of our ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program. The Family Medicine Program Coordinator working together with the program director, will be responsible for various administrative, educational, and logistical tasks to support the residents, faculty, and program director. The Family Medicine Program Coordinator is essential to the creation and coordination of the administrative workflow related to maintaining an accredited residency including, but not limited to, working to recruit trainees, tracking and reporting trainee progress to all relevant stakeholders, assisting the Program Director with accreditation, educational programming, and coordination, and communicating with faculty, residents, staff, and external entities.

The Family Medicine Program Coordinator possesses extensive knowledge of the ACGME common and specialty specific program requirements, policies, and procedures and is the primary resource for learners, faculty, staff, and functions as the program's liaison to institutional and regulatory offices.

The primary goal of the El Rio Health Family Medicine Program Coordinator is to support El Rio's Mission of providing comprehensive, quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all who may have healthcare needs, by successfully performing the primary essential functions.

Essential Job Functions:

Residency Program Administration:Coordinates and manages the day-to-day operations of the family medicine residency program.Maintains and updates resident records, including evaluations, rotations, duty hours, and attendance.Assists with the recruitment process, including coordinating interviews and gathering application materials.Coordinates orientation sessions and onboarding activities for incoming residents.Maintains and updates program policies, handbooks, and manuals in compliance with ACGME requirements.Manages program accreditation processes, including data collection and reporting.Educational Program Support:

Assists the program director and faculty in organizing didactic sessions, grand rounds, and other educational activities.Schedules and coordinates resident rotations, ensuring compliance with ACGME guidelines and program requirements.Coordinates the evaluation process, including distributing evaluation forms, collecting feedback, and compiling reports.Facilitates resident participation in research projects, presentations, and scholarly activities.Manages educational resources, including online platforms and learning materials.Communication and Collaboration:

Serves as a liaison between residents, faculty, program director, and other stakeholders.Communicates program updates, policies, and announcements to residents and faculty.Coordinates and schedules meetings, including resident meetings, committee meetings, and program evaluations.Fosters a supportive and collaborative environment within the residency program.Resident Wellness and Support:

Provides support and resources to residents regarding personal, academic, and professional matters.Assists in organizing resident wellness activities and initiatives.Maintain confidentiality and handles sensitive information in accordance with institutional guidelines.

Program Evaluation and Quality Improvement:

Assists in collecting and analyzing program data for evaluation and quality improvement purposes.Supports the program director in preparing program reports and presentations.Stays up to date with ACGME requirements and assist in preparing for site visits and program reviews.Maintains a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all Policies and Procedures including but not limited to work areas, workstations, examination rooms, hand washing, infection prevention and control etc. for this position.Demonstrates an understanding of and proficiency with the application of all compliance and reporting requirements respective to Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standards.Minimum Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, education, or a related field.Previous experience in program coordination or administration, preferably in a medical education setting.If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment.Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver's license and must comply with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:

Master's degree in healthcare administration, education, or a related field.Experience in Graduate Medical Education and relevant databases and software.TAGME certification.Familiarity with ACGME requirements and accreditation processes.Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to speak, read and write in both languages.El Rio Health is a diverse and inclusive organization.
