Job Summary
Join Canteen Technology, a department dedicated to providing technology support for the Canteen sector of Compass Group. We are committed to transforming food and beverage service for clients and consumers across the US. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise-scale B2B eCommerce solutions, with a focus on bringing the best of B2C eCommerce experiences to B2B customers. As the eCommerce Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and enhancing a new eCommerce ordering platform. This platform will initially be supporting Canteen’s Office Coffee and Commissary business lines. This senior-level position will involve leading all aspects of the integration of this platform into our existing technology ecosystem while ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs. There is potential for this role to extend into broader Product Management responsibilities for additional Canteen Technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Lifecycle Management: Lead the entire product lifecycle from concept through launch, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals.
Product Vision and Roadmap Contribution: Help shape the product vision and strategic roadmap, aligning initiatives with business objectives.
Strategy Development: Utilize data analytics and customer insights to identify improvement opportunities and develop actionable strategies that enhance customer satisfaction.
Customer Engagement: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to validate features, conduct system demos, and ensure that business value is consistently delivered.
Scope Definition: Develop and scope backlog items that guide the product team’s focus and priorities.
Requirements Definition: Engage with partners and the user community to gather business needs and translate them into clear application requirements.
Backlog Management: Prioritize and lead the product backlog, ensuring it reflects the most critical tasks and initiatives.
Project Reporting: Keep senior leadership informed about project progress, risks, and other critical updates.
Liaison Role: Serve as the primary point of contact between vendors, cross-functional teams, and business stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and project execution.
Quality Assurance: Provide experienced advice to stakeholders and ensure thorough analysis and deliverables.
Multi-Project Coordination: Simultaneously lead activities across multiple projects, ensuring efficiency and alignment with overall goals.
Release Management Coordination: Oversee release management processes across product teams to streamline deployment.
Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives for continuous improvement and best practices, fostering a culture of innovation.
Resource Alignment: Maintain an awareness of resource supply versus demand, aligning this with departmental needs.
Business Acumen: Develop a comprehensive understanding of our business to facilitate projects and drive decisions across diverse user groups.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required with at least 3-5 years of experience in an IT Product Ownership / Project Management role supporting application development or implementation.
Essential Skills:
Proven experience in managing external vendor relationships for product implementations.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Expertise in project management working in an Agile / Scrum environment.
Excellent analytical skills with a strong execution mindset.
Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience implementing efficient IT systems that support organizational functions in an Agile framework.
Creative problem-solving abilities to identify, communicate, and resolve systems issues.
Strong skills in managing conflicting priorities and achieving consensus across multiple user groups.
A committed and enthusiastic approach to supporting business customers and end-users.
Special Skills and/or Training Desired:
Proven experience with enterprise-scale B2B eCommerce solutions.
Strong understanding of eCommerce platforms and technologies.
Formal training or certification in Business Analysis, group facilitation, or project/product management
Experience with Azure DevOps
Experience with SQL
Experience managing offshore teams
