Job Summary
Join Canteen Technology, a department dedicated to providing technology support for the Canteen sector of Compass Group. We are committed to transforming food and beverage service for clients and consumers across the US. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sophisticated enterprise-scale last-mile territory planning and route optimization solutions. As the Territory and Route Optimization Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating, implementing, and enhancing new territory planning and route optimization solutions for Canteen. This position will involve overseeing the integration of those new solutions into our existing technology ecosystem while ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder needs. This role will also help evaluate and strengthen our fleet management tools and practices.
A Product Owner for Canteen applications has the following responsibilities:
Connect with the customer to validate features, execute system and solution demos, and ensure business value delivery.
Partner with the Product Manager to contribute to the product vision and strategic roadmap.
Lead story creation and requirement definition.
Lead agile team to manage and prioritize the team backlog.
Partner with Team Coaches to remove impediments for the Agile team and to model agile practices.
Keep leadership up to date on team progress, risks, etc.
Function as primary liaison between vendors, cross-functional teams, field implementation and business stakeholders.
Provide quality advice to stakeholders and ensure well-thought through analysis and deliverables.
Develop, scope, and define backlog items that guide the product team.
Coordinate activities simultaneously for multiple projects.
Coordinate change and release management across product teams.
Assist the Product Manager with leading continuous improvement and best-practice initiatives.
Maintain a current view of people supply versus demand, aligning this to departmental need.
Learn a very complex business and facilitate projects and decisions across many disparate user groups.
Participate in the Safe Agile ceremonies, such as PI planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, etc.
Collaborate with the product management layer to thoroughly understand features for execution, ensuring they meet quality, performance, usability, and security standards.
Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience with last-mile routing and/or territory planning solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or mathematics, preferred.
Experience as an IT Product Owner, preferred.
A solid track record of the following is a must:
On time development of user stories, application requirements, and/or process flow diagrams
Planning, designing, and implementing efficient IT systems to support organizational functions following Agile methodology
The ability to work independently and in a team environment
Creative problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues
Managing conflicting priorities and gaining consensus across multiple user groups
Committed and enthusiastic approach to supporting business customers and end users
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Experience running technical projects
Special Skills and/or Training Desired:
Experience with fleet management tools (GeoTab, Samsara)
Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment
Experience as an IT Product Owner
Experience working with offshore teams
