Description

Celadon Books, a division of Macmillan, is seeking a Marketing Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an engaged and enthusiastic title marketer. You will oversee all aspects of developing and executing creative, customized title marketing campaigns.

This role reports to the Associate Director of Marketing. You will work closely with editors, authors, and publicists on hardcover and paperback publications across many genres including mystery/thriller, literary fiction, women’s fiction, biographies and memoirs, history and politics, self-help, cookbooks, and more. The ideal candidate must possessstrong project and time management skills, attention to detail, and creativity.

What you'll do:

Develop and execute creative marketing campaigns for a wide variety of titles across genres to create awareness and drive sales

Work closely with the Senior Director of Marketing Strategy to develop advertising plans for assigned titles and collaborate on ad copy and direction

Strategize influencer marketing plans, including ARC mailings, influencer boxes, virtual author events for influencers, book club outreach, and sweepstakes with partner brands

Manage early reading strategy on platforms like Goodreads and Netgalley for assigned titles with an eye toward growing reviews and driving sales

Work closely with the Social Media Manager to develop organic and paid promotions across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok

Attend weekly publicity/marketing meetings and title specific meetings with authors and agents

Plan and execute trade marketing campaigns, including conducting bookseller mailings, pitching bookstore and library book clubs, assisting the Macmillan Events team with trade shows, and working closely with the Macmillan Library Marketing team

Manage the creation of sales assets, including sell sheets, promotional graphics for accounts, and account-specific requests

Communicate plans to sales team at bi-weekly sales meeting, sales conference, and as needed

Maintain budget for assigned titles

Present learnings from influencer marketing programs at title-specific post-mortem meetings

Send campaign updates to authors and agents via Google Docs

What you'll bring:

Experience in the Publishing industry

Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills

Strong understanding of social media platforms, influencer relationships, and advertising landscape across a variety of adult readerships

Results-oriented, motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently

Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a busy working environment

Energy, creativity, and a passion for a wide variety of book genres

Basic InDesign and Photoshop skills

Google Business Suite skills

Ideal experience:

5+ years marketing experience in trade book publishing

College Degree or equivalent experience

This role will have an annual salary of $65,000 - $70,000.
