The Senior Manager, Commercial Business Development, Construction Materials supports the development and execution of our commercial short and long-term goals and objectives. Partnering with sales and marketing to develop and execute growth strategies including but not limited to the identification of acquisition targets, new lead generation & development, recommendations on capex investments to facilitate growth, new product and/or service opportunities, and organic & greenfield expansion recommendations. This role is critical in developing the relationships and connections necessary to fill our pipeline of growth and diversification opportunities, ensuring the business enjoys continued success for the foreseeable future.

Responsibilities

Support strategy development to help facilitate the realization of our commercial short and long-term strategies, goals and objectives.

Partner with sales and marketing teams to develop and execute growth strategies including but not limited to the identification of acquisition targets, new lead generation & development, recommendations on capex investments to facilitate growth, new product and/or service opportunities, and organic & greenfield expansion recommendations.

Participate in cross-functional business development meetings, collaborating with colleagues on new ideas, opportunities, and/or challenges facing the business.

Support business case development for new opportunities including idea generation, market analysis, financial modeling support, strategic fit assessment, and due diligence support. Work closely with cross functional team on developing and executing the internal and external communications of the business strategy.

Build and maintain industry relationships (customers, suppliers, industry associations, market experts and regulating industries) to develop and deliver strong, mutually beneficial business development strategies.

Represent Carmeuse at key industry associations and events. Attend conferences, tradeshows, industry technical trainings and industry associations to build knowledge & relationships.

Be an antenna for the organization to understand market opportunities, competitive landscape, and technology changes. Help build strategies to best position Carmeuse, our products and services.

Build and maintain a deep understanding of markets and players. Conduct market, customer, competitive and regulatory research as needed and provide feedback on opportunities and threats, as well as market size and market share for both served and adjacent markets.

Monitor results of growth initiatives versus plan and identify ways to help drive continuous improvement to meet / exceed business case expectations.

Requirements

Excellent knowledge of the Construction Materials market

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to build & maintain relationships

Analytical with a logical approach

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)

Approachability

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to nurture & expand relationships

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Marketing preferred

7+ years industry experience with commercial responsibility and/or oversight, with proven success in high growth environments with past exposure to strategic projects

Strong presentation skills (both crafting of presentations and delivering) with the ability to tell a story

Excellent analytical skills (ability to both go into the details and take a helicopter view)

Persistent/tenacity (willing to go the extra mile), Rigorous, and Assertive

Strong financial and business acumen – must be comfortable creating business plans and managing to performance goals

Key to this position is the ability to build rapport and partnership with key leaders internally (functional area leaders and managers) to champion ideas, collaborate and solicit feedback, and insure implementation support from key stakeholders
