Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Role/Purpose:
The Production Manager will supervise the 2nd shift processes of Fabricators, Product Finishers, or Machinists, ensuring the efficient and timely production of high-quality products. This position will report to the 1st shift Production manager and demands strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise in fabrication methods, and a steadfast commitment to safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the fabrication team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performanceDevelop and implement training to enhance team skills and knowledgeFoster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvementPlan, organize, and coordinate fabrication activities to meet production schedules and deadlinesFoster good relationships within other shifts and work closely to ensure consistencyMonitor fabrication processes to ensure adherence to quality standardsTroubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtimeEstablish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of product qualityConduct regular inspections and audits of fabricated products and processesCollaborate with the Quality and Process Improvement Engineers team members to implement corrective actions as neededManage inventory levels of raw materials and supplies necessary for fabrication processesCoordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and toolsOptimize the use of equipment and resources to enhance productivityPromote a culture of safety within the fabrication department, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocolsConduct safety training sessions and regular safety auditsPrepare and maintain accurate records of production activities, including output, quality metrics, and staff performanceGenerate reports for management on production status, challenges, and opportunities for improvementUtilize timekeeping system to monitor worked hours, planned leave, and unplanned absencesMaintain Lean Management and 5S systems and monitor closely for adherence and continuous improvementOther duties and tasks as assignedWhat You Need to Succeed
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Leadership and team managementQuality control and assuranceTechnical knowledge of fabrication techniquesSafety compliance and risk managementEffective communication and interpersonal skillsManagerial experience in a fast paced environment preferredProcess documentationExcellent problem solving skillsAbility to handle multiple prioritiesProficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., CAD, SAP preferred)Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with advanced skills in data analysis, pivot tables, and complex formulasLean Mindset/Continuous ImprovementThis position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
**OVERTIME MAY BE REQUIRED BASED ON BUSINESS NEEDS.**
Minimum Education / Experience Required:
Minimum of five years supervisory experience or demonstrated progression as a subject matter expert in your fieldBachelor's Degree in a related field is strongly preferred or a Minimum of a Technical DegreeOur Offer to You
