Ascentec Engineering is hiring a Production Manager for our Dallas, Oregon location!The Production Manager is responsible for leading, directing and coordinating day-to-day functions for the Machining, MRB Engineering, Finishing and Assembly departments. Additionally, this Manager will work cross functionally with other departments, such as: quality, materials, packaging & shipping, engineering, human resources, etc., to ensure that the daily manufacturing needs are met. RequirementsJOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To include, but not limited to the following:Manage the day-to-day machining, assembly, and finishingMake personnel decisions regarding hiring, compensation, promotions, discipline and termination of operational support staff in accordance with company policiesMonitor and manage operational costs As a manager at Ascentec you will be responsible for the following leader standard work;Measure and Monitor Departmental KPI's including Productivity and Efficiency, Labor hours Booked hours, time Variance reports, Equipment Utilization rates, OTD, Rework/Scrap rates etc..Set priorities for your team(s) Evaluate capacity both equipment and human capitalCommunicate with sales/management when expectations are not metContinuous Improvement and Problem SolvingQuality Assurance: Investigates non-conformances and determines root cause / leads corrective action(s)Mentor/Coach/Train all team members on department guidelines/proceduresLead reoccurring scheduled team meetingsAdvance the Quality Management System (QMS) for the production processes through routine audit(s) and revisions to the documented QMS processesParticipate in and lead the development, execution and closure of Corrective and Preventative Action's Champion lean manufacturing events and process improvements (Kaizen, GEMBA walks, 5S events etc..) Monitoring of departmental compliance to company objectives, goals and policiesFacilitates training and allocates resources required for the training of CNC machinist, Finishing Techs and Assemblers Scheduling and coordinating customer order prioritiesManage staff by utilizing the performance management process, including confirming job responsibilities, establishing goals and job competencies, developing skills, coaching on a continuous basis and evaluating performance. Resolves day to day issues and monitors performance to plan related to staffing, scheduling, quality, tooling, maintenance, etc. Monitor performance evaluations for consistency and completeness. Ensure adherence to attendance, overtime, company policies and procedures.Ensure all work in progress is monitored and that all final products are inspected for quality.Authorizes and allocates the staffing of production.Provides mentoring or assistance so that staff is effective in managing their areas, production scheduling and meeting team goals.Fills in for production leads in their absence. Create a department culture which supports the principles of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Growth. JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS: Process development / Engineering experience preferredExperience in implementing Lean Manufacturing Processes / Toyota Production System Methodologies (5s, Gemba walks, Six Sigma, reduction of waste (Muda, Muri, Mura), Kanban, SMED)Supervisor/Management Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred Strong knowledge of GD&TExperienced with metal (stainless steel, titanium, aluminum) and plastics machining preferredKnowledgeable of CNC machine tools is preferred; CNC Horizontal and Vertical Mills, 5-Axis, Lathes, and EDM.Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering (preferred). Equivalent work experience will be considered. Five or more years of progressively complex technical experience involving the latest state-of-the-art applications and techniques in production and project management experience. Three or more years of supervisory experience (Preferred).
