OwnerSummary:The Quality Assurance Manager with SQF Practitioner responsibilities is accountable for overseeing and managing all aspects of the Thousand Hills Lifetime Grazed/Renegade Processing quality assurance program, ensuring compliance with FSIS regulatory requirements and SQF standards, and customer specifications. This individual will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the food safety and quality management systems, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and food safety excellence.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:SQF Program Management:Serve as the SQF Practitioner, maintaining the facility's SQF certification and ensuring ongoing compliance.Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the SQF system, including documentation, training, and audits.Prepare for and manage SQF audits, addressing any non-conformances and implementing corrective actions.Quality Assurance Leadership:Develop, implement, and maintain the plant's quality assurance program, encompassing all aspects of food safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance.Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for food safety and quality, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with all applicable food safety regulations (e.g., FSIS, HACCP) and customer requirements.Develop and implement food safety policies, procedures, and training programs.Conduct internal audits and inspections to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) for food safety and quality issues.Continuous Improvement:Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the quality assurance team and across the plant.Utilize root cause analysis and other problem-solving techniques to address food safety and quality issues.Customer and Supplier Relations:Manage customer complaints and inquiries related to food safety and quality.Work with suppliers to ensure the quality and safety of incoming raw materials and ingredients.Conduct supplier audits and assessments as needed.Qualifications:Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and GMPs.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficient in data analysis and reporting.Additional Information:This position requires working in a meat processing environment, with exposure to temperature extremes, noise, and potential allergens.Occasional travel may be required for training, audits, or customer or supplier visits.The Quality Assurance Manager must be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a high level of initiative and commitment to food safety and quality.Job Type:
