This position will be responsible for the smooth implementation and operations of its cloud infrastructure and network systems, as well as for supporting the day-to-day IT operations of the business within requirements, specifications, budgets, and timelines.You will work collaboratively with the Cyber Security Team to implement and maintain our company’s new IT network architecture and other supporting systems.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience and a proven track record of successfully designing, operating, setting up, and monitoring the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) and performing upgrades and enhancements as directed by IT leadership. The Network and Security Engineer will also implement, enhance, and monitor security measures to protect the company’s network and have detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practice processes within a NIST 800-171 compliant environment.This position will report to IT leadership. It is an incredible opportunity to help lead and support the outcome of a major commercial space capability and lead the implementation of an IT department in a great company.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNsConfiguring and maintaining firewalls, including VPN tunnels, security policies, and threat managementSetting up and managing Wi-Fi connections, ensuring optimal performance and securityConfiguring and managing network ports, ensuring proper VLAN and security settingsWorking with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) solutions to ensure secure access and data protectionManaging networking projects, ensuring seamless communication and collaborationCollaborating with the Cyber Security Team to ensure compliance with NIST regulations and best practicesIdentify the need for upgrades, configurations, or new systems and provide visibility to senior leadership in developing strategic priorities.Overseeing and mentoring junior network engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure project success and professional growth.RequirementsProven working experience as a Network and Security Engineer or relevant experience.Excellent knowledge of information analysis and of computer hardware/software systemsExpertise in configuring and managing networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.Proficiency in configuring and maintaining VPNs and security policiesStrong understanding of VLANs, network segmentation, and network port configurations.Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture solutionsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to networking equipment.Ability to collaborate effectively with the cybersecurity and IT teams to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices specific to network infrastructure.Professional certifications such as CCNP, CompTIA Network+, JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, or JNCIE from Juniper Networks and certifications in Fortinet products (e.g., Fortinet NSE) or equivalent.Additional certifications in network security (e.g., AZ- 500, CCNA Security, CISSP) are a plus.Expertise in data center and network management within a NIST 800-171 compliant environment, as well as Cisco, FortiGate, Palo Alto, and Juniper.Ability to setup SDWAN infrastructureNetwork security and design expertise.NIST 171 compliant wireless design and protocols.Experience in deploying and supporting HA/DR strategies.Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and installation and/or migration.BS in Computer Science, MIS, or similar field.Certifications in networking/security are a plus.Experience in Azure Gov architecture.Experience in Microsoft 365.Ability to self-govern with minimum supervision, establish workload priorities, and utilize efficient time management practices to achieve assigned tasks.Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including working effectively in a diverse team environment.To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 22 CFR §120.15 or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of StateADDITIONAL DIFFERENTIATORS:U.S. government-issued security clearance at the Secret or Top Secret/SCI levelsAbility to translate complex technical topics clearly and compellingly.Desire to learn new skills as required and develop expertise in areas that may be unfamiliar.Willing to travel 10-20%.Passion for spaceBenefits100% Company-paid comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents401(k) MatchFlexible Time Off (FTO)Salary Range $130,000 - $170,000Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
