Your Role

The Core Accounts team serves customers between the 101 - 2999 eligible employee segment. The Account Manager - Core, Experienced will report to the Senior Manager, Account Management - Core. In this role you will be responsible for strategically maintaining and growing the organization's relationship with clients and brokers. While focusing on protecting and growing existing revenue streams by ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, and will be done through strategic planning, identifying new revenue opportunities, cross-selling existing and new products, and monitoring market and economic conditions that may affect the client's operations and purchasing decisions. This position is located in the Orange County or San Diego County area and has broker assignments throughout these counties, and travel will be required to maintain our presence in the market, but it will be mostly regional in nature. The job accommodates workplace flexibility, but some in-office presence will be required.

Your Work

In this role, you will:Negotiate with brokers/consultant (low complexity) with general understanding of the renewal process and can reach out to underwriting for quotes and pricing inquiriesUse general knowledge of Blue Shield of CA products: TRIO, Tandem PPO, ASO, Specialty and has some knowledge on how they compare to competitive offerings to support accountsUse general understanding of Blue Shield of CA and Blue Shield of CA product value propositions based on client buyer type to support accountsUse general understanding of upcoming developments in the healthcare market (healthcare reform, state and local healthcare legislation, new entrants, customer need shifts)Clearly articulate thoughts and present Blue Shield of CA prepared presentation decksBuild client relationships through brokers and communicate with non-executive decision makersUpdate Shield Link with accurate, thorough, and timely informationQualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience

Requires at least 3 years of prior relevant experienceRequires at least 2 years of Health Plan sales experienceRequires a bachelors degree or equivalent experienceRequires a current active life and health license with the California Department of InsuranceExperience negotiating with brokers and consultants (low complexity) with general understanding of the renewal process and can reach out to underwriting for quotes and pricing inquiries requiredExperience using available resources to complete back-office tasks and solve problems requiredExperience resolving service-related client issues requiredPay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $71060.00 to $106700.00 for California.

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Due to the current public health emergency in California, Blue Shield employees are almost all working remotely. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
