This role involves managing and maintaining our database systems, primarily focusing on MySQL, and overseeing various aspects of our systems administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of the databases, as well as troubleshooting any issues related to our systems.
Responsibilities:Install, configure, and maintain MySQL database systems.Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.Perform regular database backups and recovery operations.Manage and monitor system performance, ensuring high levels of operational availability.Implement and oversee security measures for the integrity of the database and systems.Collaborate with IT team members on system optimization and problem resolution.Implement robust data backup and disaster recovery solutions.Monitor database security and perform regular checks, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.Provide technical support for database environments and systems.Troubleshoot and resolve database and system-related issues.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator, Systems Administrator, or in a similar role.Proven experience with MySQL database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.Must be a U.S. citizen. Willingness to undergo security clearance processes for projects involving government entities.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Effective time management and multitasking capabilities.Strong understanding of MySQL databases and experience with other database technologies is a plus.Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.Familiarity with programming languages/APIs, particularly for automating tasks.
