Position Overview

The Costpoint Administrator is responsible for providing daily support for the Deltek Enterprise Suite, including Costpoint 8.2, Time & Expense, and Cognos systems/applications. This position entails ongoing maintenance and enhancement of our core financial accounting platform with a strong command of IT skills, practical expertise, and a thorough understanding of Costpoint’s architecture. Provide Costpoint technical and functional expertise and serve as a subject matter expert for Costpoint and associated system configurations in support of operations and close activities. Partner with various departments across the organization to enhance and improve our Costpoint environment; provide daily support to operational and functional teams, and lead in future improvements and integration projects. Act as a liaison between IT development groups and operational units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of current systems. Due to the nature of work performed, U.S. citizenship is required and ability to obtain / maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the day-to-day system administration and support of the Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Time & Expense and Cognos Reporting systems including troubleshooting issues, supporting end users.

Perform as the SaaS Customer Administrator.

Responsible for championing and supporting Costpoint, Deltek Time & Expense (T&E), supporting systems/tools, integrations and driving innovation across the segment.

Participate in understanding and translating business requests and suggesting industry-standard solutions via process, training, and development where appropriate.

Work closely with Finance and IT teams to ensure the successful support of Deltek applications.

Manage user setup, security, and other configuration for Deltek and Cognos systems/applications.

Technical lead for Costpoint upgrades and issue resolution. Submit Deltek support tickets and collaborate with Deltek representatives to identify and implement appropriate bug fixes, patches, and software updates.

Manage interfaces and automated data jobs to ensure efficiency, and lead effort to migrate interfaces to current technologies.

Advocate change control and issue resolution processes, formal release schedules, and release management.

Support internal control efforts in conjunction with ITGC compliance program.

Foster and maintain positive relationships with Business Systems team members and customers across the enterprise inclusive of senior leadership.

Assess the validity of Costpoint configuration update requests and provide options for resolutions, as required.

Maintain documentation and approvals for configuration updates.

Assess needs for enhancements based on operational needs, integrations with other systems, and workflow functionality.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and bridging IT and Accounting.

Familiarity with how to trace a transaction and/or process through a full lifecycle and assess the impact on all affected systems.

Basic understanding of SQL coding for report datasets, including comfort with using AI tools to assist with writing of such SQL code.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical results/scenarios in a clear and concise fashion.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Accounting or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Advanced degree is a plus.

Minimum 8 years’ experience in business management software and applications with progressive technical support experience including system upgrades, planning, design, audits, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. 5+ years of functional experience administering Deltek Costpoint Core modules, including Deltek Time & Expense. 3+ years BI Report writing experience with Deltek Cognos Reports; expert at writing new and editing existing reports using Cognos Analytics 10 or 11 with the Deltek CER framework.

Strong technical knowledge of Costpoint and Microsoft SQL Server.

Expert knowledge of business intelligence and reporting tool requirements (i.e., Cognos, etc.). Knowledge of standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) with SDLC processes used for all modifications and enhancements.

Excellent problem identification, analysis and solving skills with strong problem-solving capabilities, particularly bridging IT and Accounting.

Ability to communicate complex technical results/scenarios in a clear and concise fashion.

Exceptional project management skills with ability to effectively collaborate with all levels within the organization.

Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance. On-call availability outside of normal working hours.
