Position Overview

Director with management responsibility for the System Design and Project Engineering department.

Reports to the Senior Director of System Design and Product Management.

Leads a team of Engineers who prepare Technical Solutions in response to Customers Requests (RFQs, ITTs, BEs).

Interfaces with customers to gather system requirements, and coordinate internal activities leading to development of the overall Technical Solution.

Supervises the development of technical documentation in support of a new system bid to be captured in the contract as well as driving implementation of a contracted project.

Provides support required for the Sales and Project Management Organizations, such as presentations to customers on SubCom technology and products.

Interfaces externally with technical customer representatives, and internally with R&D Organization, System Design and Implementation, and Customer Solutions Partners.

Minimum Requirements

M.S. Degree in Engineering or closely related field required.

Experience with long haul terrestrial or submarine optical fiber communication systems.

At least 10 years experience in R&D of optical communication systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
